Hi all. I just got this email from the head of DDF Cash, yet another company pointing out the problem of pervasive free content everywhere. (I'll paste it below)

Today, at least, I think that the solution might be to form a new industry association, say called "Save Our Industry", where sponsors and affiliate join for free with a commitment to a new marketing model that moves everyone away from massive free content, and more towards well made ads for softcore and limited censored samples for hardcore. The benefit of having everyone who will commit to this to join an organization would be to hand power over to those who want to actually save the industry and are willing to work together to do this.

Say...If you join, you get listed in the association network, agreeing to adhere to the new marketing rules, and support each other in the network. If it gets big, and profitable to do things the new way, then the 'limit free content' concept could have a chance. The association would be able to shut out folks who dont adhere to the new marketing models, and if you want to do good business with the best in the industry, you would have motivation to follow the content rules.

Well, its just an idea. Probably been thought of before. But if anyone wants to run with this, I say go for it.

CHANGE YOUR HABITS IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO EARN YOUR LIFE IN THE ADULT INDUSTRY- AND MAKE MONEY AGAIN!

We could fix this with a little discipline, believe me, and start to censor your free galleries, restore the desire to see more by accessing the memberâ€™s area of your sites.

The golden age could return and there is enough space for everyone, lets clean up the Net together. I am aware that this will not happen overnight but I everybodyâ€™s responsibility to begin to censor their new galleries (put only soft content), not give away hardcore content for free anymore, and reduce the archives of your free sites. BELIEVE me you will not lose your traffic, you'll just boost your income.

The idea is absurd. The time I wasted reading it I want back. Some sponsor most have never heard of sends out a email warning everyone about free porn killing the business? Email is about 5 years too late and wouldn't have made a difference 5 years ago let alone today.

forming one is fine, but what happens 6 months later when nobody follows the rules anyway, the treasury gets looted and the back stabbing begins?

There is a lot of players in this industry that would stab you in the back and steal your stuff the second you turned your back. Their not going to join anything that might stop them from making a buck.

We've already started to limit the amount of FHG's our affiliates can post in one location.

We sent out letters to have our affiliates reduce the amount to 4 FHG's or free pic sets by the end of July.

We will not work with affiliates that plaster 100's of our photos in one free gallery for their traffic. That type of sales pitch doesn't work and damages our business in the long run.

Of course, when we made the announcement we got lots and lots of shit thrown in our faces and a large group said we were idiots.

No matter. We are doing it to increase our sales and survive in this tough market place. I hope more and more affiliates realize how to market their products.

We've been saying it for 2 years now. LESS = MORE.

Stop over promoting rare content that sells.
