As dumb as I think the meaning of my nick is these days, it's mine and I've never changed it.

Most people who change their nick have been banned a bunch of times or have had a new asshole ripped and just can't deal with the shame they've brought on themselves...so they slink off and come back with a new nick.

Anyway, I developed a drinking problem, which I have finally overcome. So I changed my name as a reminder to myself, not to go that way again.

I use to be Silent Bob jedi and for years at shows I was known as SBJ or just Bob (even though my name is Matt). I just thought SBJ sounded more grown up.

When I first got online in 1995 I was Zak3. Zachary was my "pet nickname" my wife used to call me (I called her "Bambii") and 3 was my favorite number. My first website was a daily bikini website called "Zachary's Daily Dose". The only person in the industry who knew me as "Zak3" or "Zachary" was Lightspeed, or maybe Minte.

I changed it to Rochard after working for Lightspeed Cash. I had stopped using "Zak3" and "Zachary" (Richard is also a nickname and it was just getting silly already using two nicknames), and Steve Lightspeed wanted me to come up with something to be called. He wanted to call me "Richard Lightspeed". I love Steve to death, but no. So on the spot I came up with "Rochard", pronounced "ROCKhard". More or less, I changed the "i" in "Richard" to an "o".

I think Tanker (or maybe it was Steve) who came up with the phrase "I'm always hard at work". You can take that any way you want.

Back before XBIZ was XBIZ I was the mod for their board and had to use a different name because the system would not allow baddog. I presumed it was because of the word "dog" in it.

Years later they allowed me to become baddog there too.

I worked for Coca-Cola for 9 years refurbishing coke machines, I built a test platform for load testing the circuit boards and called it Vendzilla. when I got my first PC, I needed a Yahoo email address and since I made up the word Vendzilla, it stuck. It's good branding, I own vendzilla.com So I have no plans to ever change it
