Not into heli's but I had a bunch of RC boats. I had a 7.5cc tunnelhull, an air boat and a couple 1/8 scale unlimited hydroplanes. One was miss circus circus and the other was United Van lines. They would do about 60mph.
Unfortuanately I beached them at full speed! |
okay... I'm convinced....
dude, did you see the clip of the truck getting nailed by the jet blast??!!! That shit is fuckin' outta control man! |
bro, check out the F 14 breaking mach.... :thumbsup

Ok, there everyone has to see this. Dude, If I had a heat protection suit, I'd want to stand behind it, and see how far into the water I could go. |

If you look around you can find more videos of jets breaking the sound barrier. Cool shit. Jets are the way to go. |

how well do they handle waves? |

I have an R/C Monster truck that hauls ass. Last winter we took it up to our cottage in the middle of michgian. They just plowed the snow and the pile was about 7 feet high. I was giving it full throttle and jumping the 7 foot high snow drift. The truck would come down and keep going. It kicks ass.
I know there are R/C helicopters with training skids that you can get to help ensure proper balance and landings to make things a little easier when you fly them. It is like a big X attached to the skids on the bottom and it is weighted. You might want to look for one of those. The cool thing with R/C is that if you buy the right stuff you can re-use some of it if you want to do something else. I know with my truck I can take most of the parts and use it on a boat for instance if I wanted to build a boat. It's pretty fun, but I would definitely get gas powered , they last longer typically, but I believe you still have to wait for the motor to cool. I have a battery powered one and it moves out pretty good, but I have to have 3 batteries going and 2 chargers if I want to have fun with it continuously. Andy |
okay, I'm totally sold on the hydros.... check this fucker out! (video link)
i simply must have one. |
Quote:
What happened man? I had you sold on those jets. Well, maybe because you are in Maui, you want a water craft, but the ocean is too rough. Jets, man! Jets! Just think AMP, you could be flyin your jet all over the island, and chicks would be flocking all around you to see the haole with the jet. Chicks DIG JETS! Especially Maui babes! |
Quote:
those jets looking fucking awesome redshoe! but where the fuck could you ever fly them? sounds practically like a full scale jet. damn. i want one :) |
hey quiet, did you get my email this morning bro?
|
yeah.... the problem here is there's always waves and surf to deal with... but man, those hydros look fun as hell! I wonder if I went out far enough.... nah shit... there's still waves.
fuck... I need a lake. |
Fuck, theres gotta be some lakes around there isnt there?
BTW Amp, did you get that ICQ message a couple days ago? |
but ya, those unlimited hyros fuckin smoke on the water! You can actually put 2 engines in them and get them doing about 80 mph. I seen a couple of them go on the water and they look and sound totally awesome full out.

don't think so, but lemme check my history |

I saw a guy with an f-14 style rc jet once take off, and just shoot straight up into the sky. That damn jet went almost ou of sight. It was way the fuck up there. Jets rule. Heli's suck. Heli's suck almost as much as Mac's do. Heli's are to the RC world, what XP is to the PC. See what I mean? |
hey pete, how is a "tunnel hull" different from the hydros? (lookin' at these now) It looks almost the same? Are they better in waves?
|
Quote:
Wow, say that 10 times real fast, "toy boat, toy boat, toy boat, toy boat, toy boat, toy boat, toy boat, toy boat, toy boat, toy boat" I keep saying "toy boyt" Hmm, I thought we were back to the BAD ASS jets!! |
Ya the tunnels are better in the waves and you can carve corners at full speed like fuckin nothin, unlike the hydros where they slide a bit on corners but you can still turn at full speed. They are both a blast to drive
I'll send that icq message from my other number |
I have never seen a turbine powered RC jet before. Simply awesome.

think they'd get pissed if I cruise one of those around down here at the boat ramp? :winkwink:

Amp, you gotta walk before you can fly. get a trainer first, or you'll be real upset when you crash your high performance plane or jet on the first flight. but you dont have to listen to me, i've only got 17 years in the hobby and some very nice planes in my shop :)
|

I watched him fly a few times.... looked pretty complicated... |
i guess i'll take my digital cam out to the shop and snap some pics for you guys
|
this fucker is shit hot...

|
Fuck ya, thats a nice Bud boat!!
|
so.... do ya gotta build these things pete, or can they be bought as a complete ready-to-go kinda thing?
|
You can buy the model version and put it together piece by piece which takes about 2 fuckin years or you can buy the plastic version which is lighter and preassembled but you have to mount the engine and radio and shit. Then paint it too, although they may have them prepainted now as well.
Best thing is to pick up a copy of the magazine RC Boat Modeller. |
hmm... well i definately don't wanna go with the two year plan...
|
Hey AMP is my ICQ getting throught to you? Hit me back, man. I gotta conversate.

BTW, AMP, I used to special effects. We did the Bud Frogs when they were popular, and one of the commercials was on the real hydro bud boat. One of the frogs jumps into the boat and kicks it on. Well, we shot the commercial in an airplane hangar in Van Nuys. At one point the guy had to turn it on... DAAAAYYUUMM!! Inside an airplane hanger that mother fucker was loud!! It was on the water, but anchored to the stage floor, thru the big pool we were in. That mother fucker has some serious power. I got to sit inside and cacth a frog as we tossed it in to look like he jumped in. That's one bad ass boat... but not more bad ass than an RC JET. |
i found the Bud boat package, but it's out of stock... :(
but it does come ready to run.... just add fuel :thumbsup |
Quote:
|
Thats the "weed eater" style engine and not the Nytro fuel engine. That one is much slower
|
hmmm.... they got a 1/12 scale that's supposed to be nitro... the one in the link there is 1/8 scale
|
Quote:
I'd get something fast and very tough so you can fuck around with it in the surf. Run it out to fuckin Jaws on a big day or something.. lol. |
Get an 11cc nitro if you want some speed, or a twin 11cc "mongoose Outrigger" that bitch 'll do almost 100 mph with a 60 foot rooster tail!
|
something more like this maybe Gutterboy? (also out of stock)
|

ahhh.. I found one... yeah, I think I'm gonna hafta let go of the hydro idea and find someting to handle the waves....
|
My batteries are dead in my camera, so i drive to Target to buy some. my three year old throws a huge fuckin fit in the store so i left without without the batteries and now I'm too pissed off, i dont go around my planes when i'm pissed so here are two pics from the model club instead.
http://www.tylermodelers.com/Pilots/Smith__W.htm that one is a Sukhoi SU-26, my favorite of all my planes And the other one, click the top one that says Will Smith's Pitts Special http://www.tylermodelers.com/picoweek.htm I have 6 more in flying condition and 2 more under construction, one helicopter, one RC10 offroad racing truck and a 4 wheel drive onroad car, one real plane (not rc) and one kitplane (not rc) that is under contruction. Maybe tomorrow when i'm in a btter mood i'll go take some pics, that kid really pissed me off tonight. |
