NSCash lowers RevShare rate. "Back in 2002 when the adult internet industry was..."

Jun 15, 10 - Revshare Payout Restructure
Dear Webmasters,

Back in 2002 when the adult internet industry was at it's peak and booming with traffic and sales, we made the decision to increase all affiliate payouts from 50% to 60%. We also raised our webmaster referral program from 5 % to 10%. This has been our standard for the last 8 years and higher than most standards in the industry. However, we are currently facing a saturation and continued proliferation of free adult content on the web and a continued recession and economic down cycle.

We have made the decision to restructure our business model both internally and externally in order for us to remain profitable and maintain a viable and healthy long term plan. Part of this re-structuring calls for our payouts to revert back to our original 50/50 model. These changes will be effective immediately. Keep in mind that all previous recurring revshare memberships will still be paid out at 60%. These changes only affect new sales from this point forward.

I find 50% with a TRUE revshare (none of this uncredited crossales, consoles, or leaks bullshit) to be perfectly fair. Plus they are paying rebills at the old rate.

I'm more inclined to want to push traffic to them now because it seems less likely that they are going to pull an asshole move like these other programs going out of business and keeping the rebills and never making the final payout.

Now, if we see scumbag revshare programs trying to justify pushing the percentage down to 40% then it will be entirely different.

That's how you do it. Better to do this than to fuck everyone one day when they randomly decide to stop paying.

Plus it's only for new sales. Programs that need to reduce their expenses need to follow this pattern rather than just fucking everybody in the ass.

Because we all know what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass.

i dont see any problem, i always choose 50/50, even if they are offering 70 with consoles, i dont think i made more to make money than a program did, so 50/50 is the most fair imho ... and keep up the good work mr daizzzy!

Yes, the news isn't good... but it is HONEST. They are telling you what they plan to do, they aren't screwing anyone and they are giving everyone the information needed to make their own decisions. Cant kill a company for that, if anything, based on what others have done, they should be given credit for being ethical about the change.

A lot. The adult industry, like many businesses, is filled with copycats. Look for many to try to find ways to use the closings to screw affiliates more or cut them out completely. Notice how many have a wise crack at the end of the announcement such as "If you're in the affiliate business we recommend you get out", etc. The online postings of the owners of various programs can also at times tell you a lot about what they are thinking...

Post of the day, by far. I don't know why 50/50 revshare disapeared in favour of 60 or even 70% going to the affiliate. It was pretty obvious that the booming market wasn't going to last. Eventually, when most of the affiliates are gone, having moved on to different things, I hope the programs stay with 50/50 to prevent their demise in the future when the industry inevitibly flexes and shrinks again. It's like the big bang theory. It starts, flies outwards and everyone gets in on it, then expands so far that it can't maintain life ;)

a few companies have been high-fived for their "honesty" about their financial situation.

doesn't mean anything - they still vanished with the money.

I have promoted these guys for years, I don't see anything wrong with this adjustment. These guys purchased several ccbill sites that I was pushing and a year later I still get re-bills. These guys also send you an email if a check they sent you goes stale. With so many companies fucking over affiliates, I trust ns cash and would continue to push them at 40%

A sign of the times, but I don't see an issue with it...I'm sure if an affiliate is pushing heavy volume, there is some flexibility...that's kind of the way it used to be...you had to actually have some sales going in to get higher payouts instead of everyone getting the same standard payout.

I don't think it will be... but it may be part one of many other programs making similar honest and publicly stated adjustments. I know I trust a company more for saying we are lowering payouts 10% than I do if they quietly add a $10.00 check processing fee and claim their payouts haven't changed.... or worse.

An email like that would make me want to push a program like that more. It shows honesty and class. Something lacking here lately.
