You kidding yourself if you think they are "ditching the affiliate model". What is really happening is their ship is sinking and they are kicking the affiliates off now so they can try to stay a float a little longer by keeping all of the affiliates future revenue. However that will only last so long, months...
These companies are going out of business, not ditching a model. :2 cents:

Exactly, its not. In the short term it is a big boost of income for them because they don't have to make affiliate payments, and they will still benefit from the traffic people are sending that didn't know about the changes. But that will only last for a short period of time. Removing affiliates is the #1 way to put the nail in your coffin for your business. If you can't be profitable on your affiliate's traffic then there is a very good chance you wont make much money off of in house traffic buys. And your volume of new traffic/sales will drop off big time.
