    My gmail account got hacked.

    I happen to check something in my sent mail and noticed all these pictures that were sent that i did not recognize. The dumbass sent a bunch of pictures from their iphone to their email account while they were logged into my account of receipts from a UPS package with their name and address on it.

    So, now i have thier IP, name and address..and they live 20 minutes from me.

    I'm debating whether or not to take a drive over there and let them know they forgot to log out of my email account when they sent the pics from their iphone to their email account.

      OR an error occurred on Google's end and he just thought he was using is own account and never logged into yours...

                      I don't know but SOMETHING odd happened with Google on Sunday between 8:00am and noon... my analytics data dropped to virtually nothing and some very odd traffic stats appeared... I've checked all my own reporting matrices and all looks good. Definitely something on Google's end...

                      but who knows, Google pushes around a lot of data and a LOT of services with a lot of interconnectedness :P

                              It's not that uncommon to be honest. Learning how to do a basic attack from some howto (or downloading some random app to steal info over wifi)and knowing how to hide your tracks are orthogonal. You'd probably expect someone experienced with either using or constructing an attack to be able to at least minimally try to cover up their usage, but I wouldn't expect too much.

                              For what it's worth, I would report all of what you've learned to the local law enforcement who will probably direct you to some state police sponsored task force who possibly might be able to do something (they like cases where most of the work is done for them).

                                  This is what makes me nervous about using gmail and other goog services. Twitter was using gmail and google documents etc for sensitive corporate materials and someone got into their shit and released a ton of stuff for the world to see.

                                      Some guy I was talking to last year in Scotland had the same thing happen to him Google took care of it and restored his account, but he lost all his doc's and pic's. I never leave anything on web based email accounts since I heard what happened to him.
