              yes, seen lots of thes sites.. many of theme have aggressive popups, not this one tho.

              how they make money? selling ads in their clones.

                                                                  Adsense is garbage unless you tailor everything to specifically researched terms with potential profitability. Just tossing Adsense on pages full of random shit won't take you far, and I can't see this type of page having a ridiculous CTR. Personally I'd use it to capture emails and user data somehow. Through site membership or a mailing list. Try and sell them on shit. Humor site? Do a "Funny t-shirt" shop, and push traffic in that direction. Cute Kitties site? Push them to puppy calenders and kitten mousepads on Amazon or something. Stick to a general theme and try to sell them on a related tangible product while collecting a commission. Boo Adsense and banner networks.
