You asked for a nice hotel in Manila, and were given the correct answer "Shangri La" (You could have also had Dusit, Mandarin Oriental or Peninsular (suites not standard rooms are nice).
A hotel "close to the good shit" if you mean the crappy Burgos Street hooker bar zone will not be so nice.
Shangri La to there is les than 10 mins by taxi btw.Comment

I wanted to be in Ayala next to all the shops and the Intercon is perfect. PHL is so much better than China where I just left from.Comment

well, speaking from my experience so far ... Intercon is pretty nice, I like it and the location next to the Ayala mall and all these American-type restaurants (Tony Romas, Fridays... w/e else) is great and so close I can't even call it walking distance, its basically across the street.Comment
