Anyone ever try this combo? I'm looking to knock out for the night... Tylenol PM doesn't really do it for me. I have a couple of Valium on hand.
Tylenol PM & Valium anyone?

Tylenol PM makes me really sluggish the next day. A couple of Valiums should do the trick by themselves though. Just try not to drink any caffeine for like 4 or 5 hours before you wanna sleep.
If you have the resources, 1 Ambien will knock you out cold.

Going to have to talk with my doctor about that, I'm just worried I'll become dependent on it. I'm having a sleep study done next week.
The quality of sleep I've been getting has been horrible lately... just can't seem to get that restful, REM sleep. I swear I wake up at least 15-20x a night. Constantly dragging ass all day long... been like this for months.
I just want to fall asleep one day, and wake up 8 hours later in the same position. I'm practically jealous of people that are able to sleep like babies throughout the night.
It is seriously hurting me cognitively. I feel like a zombie.112.020.756Comment

Might I suggest some medicinal marijuana instead of pills?Going to have to talk with my doctor about that, I'm just worried I'll become dependent on it. I'm having a sleep study done next week.

(those pills work, make no mistake,.. I was on them for years.)
I have chronic insomnia, but I sleep like a baby with a hit of green.

Don't use valium for sleep deprivation. Yes I have tried ~10mg codeine and maybe 1.25-2.5mg diazepam to take the edge off on a sleepless night before, but only because it was a once off type situation with something i had readily available and those aren't large amounts, we're talking 1 codeine tablet and a quarter to a half a 5mg valium.. 20mg/5mg would be more like a noticeable dose. If you actually want a long term solution, that most definitely is not it.Last edited by bhutocracy; 06-18-2010, 12:50 AM.Comment

Hah, actaully Nevada does allow medical marijuana. I believe it's up to 1 ounce of dried mj and 7 plants (3 of which can be mature). No dispensaries though.Might I suggest some medicinal marijuana instead of pills?

Believe me I feel the exact same way, that's why I'm getting a sleep study done. I'll be getting a lot of bloodwork done as well... who knows what my issue is, hypothyroid, adrenal fatigue, blood sugar issue, iron, etc... once I get my labs back, I'm going to start digging very deep.Don't use valium for sleep deprivation. I took the Tylenol PM and 10mg of Valium. I watched 1 episode of Breaking Bad and knocked out around midnight. Woke up pretty refreshed at 8am. Still felt some lingering effects but those subsided after breakfast and a shower. I just got back from the gym.
It definitely helped, this time. I needed that.112.020.756Comment

doctors should be working on the reasons behind why you cannot sleep. not pumping you full of drugs.
or YOU should be working on the reasons and not pumping yourself full of drugs. i am against 99% of the absolute crap doctors subscribe to people.
most of the long term effects have never been tested. not to mention screw with peoples brain chemistry.Comment

eesh. just have some friend's phone #s handy so they can pick you up from the emergency room the next day. have them bring wet naps to wipe the charcoal off your face from getting your stomach pumped. that is, if you make it to the er.Comment

Hah you went with 30mg/10mg.. Yeah thats going to help get you some z's. With 10/2.5 I just needed help tipping over the edge into sleep after a particularly stressful day, 30/10 will take you over Thelma and Lousie style. Watch out though.. Thats going to screw with your bloodwork, and probably a perfect addiction scenario if you did it for a month or two and started doing it earlier and earlier in the evening and ramping up the codeine to get the same feeling ;) I didn't know you were taking 10mg of valium.. stick to that, you don't need the tylenol on top of 10mg and it's less risky.Believe me I feel the exact same way, that's why I'm getting a sleep study done. Okay man, well, you can deal with issues that come up however you like, but some of us gotta do what we gotta do. I'm able to sleep now with just a little bit of ganja, but I relied on pills for years. Now, if I run out of ganja, I either hope to get lucky and find a leftover Valium or something in the junk drawer, or I don't sleep.doctors should be working on the reasons behind why you cannot sleep. not pumping you full of drugs.

There is nothing any doctor can do to fix it. There is nothing I can do to fix it. I'm bipolar. It comes with the territory, it's for life, and there's no cure. So if you have a better suggestion, I'm all ears.SIG TOO BIGComment

nahhhhhh im not saying there is anything wrong with you. in fact im saying that you are so normal it is not even funny. i bet alot of people have had trouble sleeping.Okay man, well, you can deal with issues that come up however you like, but some of us gotta do what we gotta do. except some people take it as "i cant fucking sleep whatever" than other people take it as "o shit i cant sleep, something is wrong with me, o shit my girlfriend better not find out, o shit she might think im crazy, o shit im gonna be late for work" etc etc.
ive had many problems in my life and i have found 100% of the times the solutions is found internally. it is just how it is. your own mind is the most powerful thing. your own mind causes the stress, which causes sleep apnea, which causes irritability, which causes disease over stress etc etc.
i believe when you stop the mind from dealing with itself ie drugs putting chemicals into your brain from stopping your thinking path (which is what they do) you will never find a true cure.
i dont belive in "doing what you gotta do". if you are at a point in your life where you need to take drugs to continue than in general you need to re assess where you are. and that included a hard look at is what is really going on and being honest with yourself.
that is the entire point of drugs. it bridges the gap between having to deal with factuality or reality. if you take drugs everyday to help you, you pass up the chance of dealing with the fact of what, why and when you had to take them in the first place and convince yourself the reality that the drug helps you.Last edited by MetaMan; 06-18-2010, 09:20 PM.Comment

Doctors are not there to fix it. Always remember that psychologists make money off the perception that certain people have a greater problem than others.Okay man, well, you can deal with issues that come up however you like, but some of us gotta do what we gotta do. how many rapists or child molesters ever get fixed? NADA. when something is ingrained in your brain it is. it is up to you to fix it.
i dated a girl who was "bi polar". basically SHE changed her life after having a child and she thought that the drugs helped her. meanwhile before hand she was high on coke etc etc. it had nothing to do with doctors SHE MADE THE CHOICE to change.
if drinking, coke, hell video games makes you a different person you are not bi polar. you are just not meant for that certain thing. some people are better dealing with their own mental issues (which everyone has) than others. because you are genetically pre disposed to certain issues more than others.
now she is off the meds, happily married with a new kid, and i cant be more happy for her (i was friends with her for years).Last edited by MetaMan; 06-18-2010, 09:36 PM.Comment

you as usual are missing the point.
i am not comparing.
my point was you are capable of fixing any problem internally over anything else if you want to. and are willing to do so.
you just made my ignore. you choose to make stupid opinions and not even read my enitre posts. 3rd person in history.

I think there is a Tylenol 4 also.... but you only get it directly from a doctor while you are in a hospital. Tylenol 4 with Morphine.
EDIT: Whoops, here's the skinny on T4: Tylenol #3 has 30mg of codeine and 325 mg of acetaminophen, Tylenol #4 has 60mg of codeine and 325mg of acetaminophen.Last edited by Amputate Your Head; 06-19-2010, 07:54 AM.SIG TOO BIGComment
