After reading the GFY poll on the WORST US President of the last 50 years, the thread title came to mind. What monumental misstep would Obama have to take for people to forget GW Bush? Or is GW *irredeemably bad*?

Alternatively, are we living in such fucked up global times that the last 2 presidents (O and GW) will look bad regardless ?

I would say Obama would need to make up something crazy, a huge lie, like: We have to evade Mexico for Corona's, but really we did it for Dos Equis - then we hang the President of Mexico, murder a ton of the people, and steal its peanut resources. Then come out and tell everyone on national tv we never went to war that it was only the Canadians... just trying to equal the lie, maybe say Canada nuked them! To keep this short while all this was happening he would need to rob Americans of investments, take away our rights and freedoms more than ever before, and to top it off if he could steal an election...

The current political situation that has been peaking for a good 8-9 years now dooms pretty much everyone that gets elected. We blame hurricanes on presidents. Oil spills aren't cleaned up quick enough and it is the presidents fault too. It's always easier for a Dem to point a finger and blame a Republican or vice versa.

Too much blame and not enough working together for the greater good of the people and our country.

Yes, the bailouts already signed by Bush went through as planned, that is correct. He did create his own, which at this time hasn't backfired at all. He didn't create the patriot act, I'm not happy he kept it.

Our Economy "has" improved, even if you feel it's destroyed, it's still here and doing better than it was when Bush left office.

He moved the combat troops out, or most of them and is going harder in Afgan, that was the plan. Nobody is expecting us to exit Iraq and leave that Country with nothing but the rubble we created, we're responsible for it because Bush was our President.

Sortie is nail on too... Obama is cleaning up the mess of the previous years, he hasn't had time to screw anything up.

Several, but not all... seems like some people can deal with it and support it too. By free market standards, if some companies can't cut it, then so be it.

We blame hurricanes on presidents. Oil spills aren't cleaned up quick enough and it is the presidents fault too. It's always easier for a Dem to point a finger and blame a Republican or vice versa.
