It's all my own damn fault for keeping shitty backups, and getting abehind on a payment. Amerinoc switched to their new payment ticket system, I kept sending in my payments directly, which apparently means they weren't tracked in the system. I always pay by eCheck which added and extra 6-8 days for payment to clear. Used to get a lot of leeway with Phatservers and hosted with them for a long time. If I got behind a month, I just doubled up the next month and it was never problem. Now you get automatically wiped after 45 days overdue by the system with no human review. Combine my month behind, with the pyment not tracked by the system and my eCheck setting me back, I surpassed their threshhold and everything got shitcanned. Apparently there's some old backups kicking around, not sure I even care at this point, but I'll see what's left over.
I got a solid $80k/year job right now doing track inspection for CN. I only planned on working til the end of summer, but with this turn I think I might just bite the bullet and kiss the net goodbye and run with it.
I dunno. Pretty much put the nail int he coffin of my internet career though. I haven't even started totaling the total value of what I've lost.
If anyone followed what I was saying about my poor money management at the end of last year, they'd know I made a lot of money in a short period doing some mainstream stuff, and spent it all very poorly on investments which were left half finished and unusable until they were finished. Pretty sure all that is gone, along with a lot of other stuff. I have rough backups kicking around for a lot of stuff, but it will take a lot of time to put it all back together and get things back in order. Don't know if I care to do it.

Before this gets out of hand...there is waaaay more to the story then "Amerinoc doing wipes" Nothing has changed here, Just a client 4 MONTHS behind on his bill and his server getting yanked. We stil have backup and offered them if he paid up.Comment

I'm not denying being behind. But it's nothing new either. I've been behind before, I never got anything wiped on me in the past. I always paid up and there ws never any issues in the past. I sent in one payment a couple week back, which ccording to the email I received today my server was terminated at the time of already. Was never warned or told anything. I told you I'd get the next payment out and tie u the amount owing at that time. the server still got wiped, Amerinoc knew my server was already toast, and waited for me to pay up the other 2 months to notify me of the fact. I'm paid up in full as of right now according to the system. I have nothing to show for it.
I take full responsibility for what happened, but I still feel fucked knowing that you guys knew my server was done when I sent the first half of the payment in. After 2 years of hosting, you couldn't wait 2 weeks for me to pay off the total owing after I had already sent in half the amount owing. Wait until the payments are all clear and cool, then tell me everything is gone aside from some old backups. No one told me anything about the payments needing to go through the ticket system until the latest email I received. I can see why you needed to be quiet about my shit being gone. You and I both know I wouldn't have sent the second half of the payment in had you told me you already cleared my shit back at the first payment.

It was 3 months I owed for. One of which was covered a couple weeks ago. No situation I haven't been in with Phatservers in the past. I always paid up in full, things never went wrong in the past. I got comfortable with it, and they choose to tighten up their ship. That's all, entirely fair on their part. I lay no blame on Amerinoc or Phatservers. Like I said, i don't really care at this point. Everything is squared up now. I'll see what's left of my backups. But most of what I have that was actually turning a decent income were newer projects built since around the time of the old backups. If there's anything leftover that seems good for anything, I'll probably just liquidate whatever is leftover and call it quits.Comment

The backups are from February, which will save some of my older stuff, and I'm not sure how much of it yet. There's only a handful of projects I really want to see saved here, and most of the heavy work went into them starting January/February, so I dunno what will be recovered. I never chose to pay extra for backups. Again, my own fault.Comment
