GFY is slowing down.....Loosing Relevancy? or Fewer Webmasters?

Not to mention the obvious; but, there seem to be fewer and fewer posts in the forums these days.

I remember when there were enough posts overnight a year or two ago to move a thread down two or three pages.

Last night was just over half a page or so.

Fewer adult webmasters these days?

What would you do to pickup interest?

Comments.....

Just an observation.

Probably a little of all those.

Many have been forced out of this industry.

It's all of the above.

There are too many useless posters like fatfoo. I've stopped coming here as much just because some of the idiots who should have been banned a long time ago are allowed to stay and act like idiots. GFY needs more active moderation.

many back to the day job, i know many personally have sold off, just wasn't worth the time any more, some probably just working harder to stay afloat.

other boards are worse. like a couple posts a day. boards that used to be filled with hustling.

Very true. A lot of people have got out of the game, some have realised boards are not the place they used to be and idiot posters are making it dreary. Many of them aren't even in the business.

Look at other boards and you'll see it's not just GFY. They are all slowing down.

Maybe a lot of webmasters need to get busy with their business and spend less time on the boards.

True dat.

If you are not making money off the boards, your revenue is in a nose dive, yet you are on here 18 hours a day trolling and worrying about others,... you need to question your time management and priorities.

What other boards? They're pretty much all deader then dead. GG&J is probably still kicking little, but the others i know of are pretty much done.

The number one reason adult webmaster forums are dying. The adult affiliate model is pretty much dead. Pretty damn hard to make any money pushing porn. So why stick around?

just saw on another board an old school webmaster packing it in. day job and no sales. most just log and slink off.

btw there are still sales out there. just the same old shit doesn't work anymore. dump the shit that doesn't sell and try new shit until it does. don't do the same old waiting for some future turn around.

fuck it why not go back to a day job for the average working wage webmaster? i did about a month ago after a long stretch of purely online work. got a call early one morning from my old employer asking if i would come back. tey offered me a decent wage so i said fuck it and went. whole lot fo factors piling up making it hard for the average guy to make money online right now.

Same here.

Most of the feet clip stores, and other sites, I originally mimicked when I started my own content productions are now gone. In the past 24 months, many... not all,... have packed up and closed, or they have not updated since 2008/9.

I have talked with some, and they simply are infuriated by piracy. Shooting new content, and 2 days later it's available everywhere for free. They have said it simply is no longer worth it to them, monetarily or personally, to try and provide content to the fans.

Kinda sad to see some of them go.

Pretty much. I haven't left yet, even though things are down all around for me. I'm still working on a few projects. Wasn't really looking for a job, the offer just came my way and it was good enough to take it at the time. The extra money is nice, and it's funding a couple projects that were sidelined. It's just a seasonal job that'll be over at the end of summer anyways. Besides that, I get to hang out with some old friends I haven't seen in a while. I'm not minding the working world at the moment. Kind of nice knowing exactly what you're gonna get paid, knowing exactly when the check is coming, nd not having to worry that the checks aren't going to show up.

Hey asshole, it's a common fact that many things lose traffic during the Summer time. People are out more and out with their families more because of the nicer weather. You're in Los Angeles and the world doesn't revolve around Los Angeles. Think outside Los Angeles.

All jokes aside though, expand your minds. There's still big money to be made, just not the traditional ways. But then again, I'm talking about people who still use ICQ faithfully, so who knows.

webmasters leaving, programs leaving, webmasters not getting paid and leaving, summer is here which will make it slower...

There's a lot of stuff but one thing I know for sure is that GFY took too long to
ban certain people in the past.

There was one really big jackass on this board for years that ran a lot of people away.

It was interesting to watch other posters cheer this asshole along.

I hope all the cheerers are completely broke now.
They deserve it.

I will also add that an increasing number of threads seemed to be nothing more
than racist rants. Minorities sell porn too and don't like reading that shit, not even
the thread titles.

Less webmasters now to post
Less companies now to post
Less Affiliate managers now to post

Less sig whores and bots posting " see sig " or random bs. More trolls being banned now, so less posts/ drama from them.

The site has lost relevancy and the amount of business posts is at an all time low.

LOL they werent "webmasters". just mostly clinger oners who had no business working on the web in the first place. Companies cant afford to keep pointless people around and pay $50k to do data entry and talk to a couple affiliates.

it takes real knowledge and talent to make it through a recession. We are seeing who is real and who is not now.

all the pretenders as said above have gone back to their day job. there isnt enough money out there to be playing "im an adult webmaster" anymore.

it is only about all those crying americans ... i am on some not english speaking forums and there is everything working well, new people who arrived there dont see "no money in porn, world is comming to the end", but they see new launched sites, new promos, and helpful tips ... only all those people who dont know better than trade traffic are now leaving, but if you dont know better, what is the purpose to stay here? wish you best with your sites or lets go back to crying!

If I lived in some shithole country where the cost of living was next to nothing, I wouldn't be complaining either.

Fact is though for North American affiliates that there is as someone mentioned earlier, a "perfect storm" happening at the moment. A lot of factors are making it very hard to continue right now and there will be a thinning of the herd. There already is. Those who tough it out will come out on top. Those who come up with new ideas will make big money again.

Porn is out, everybody jumped ship to mainstream CPA, which starting early this year with the shitstorm over mainstream rebilling and continuity offers has that in rapid decline. Every guy who hit it big a couple years ago with CPA started his own CPA network. You can see dozens of them folding now too. Even big networks. Go look up the nightmare Hydra Network ah fallen into. Now those shitvultures have a serious shitcloud raining down on them.

There will be another wave. Something will come along that makes a lot of people a lot of money online. Just gotta be around when it comes, and keen enough to catch it early. I made a lot of money closing out last yer on that whole male acai wave. Wasted the fuck out of it. Learned a hard lesson about managing money. Spent it all, then January came around and all the offers kept dying. The good converters all dropped, and payouts started going way down The competition went way up. It's the name of the game.

The continuing strength of the Canadian dollar hasn't helped either. I'm sure some Canadian webmasters can back that up. used to be nice making a few hundred extra just off the exchange rate every month. When you're making regulr working wage online, that few hundred extra can make the difference between living comfortably, and having to be tight with the funds.

Oh well, things will come back around. Times will change. The people who think 2 steps ahead will prevail, and a handful of lucky ideas will come out big. Keep at it. Even porn will have it's day again.

I can only read English message boards but I think you may be right.

I have a Russian sponsor and everything there seems fine.

Keep at it. Even porn will have it's day again.
you will be back, i know you have your shit together.

working online is becoming tougher and tougher. especially with the way billing has been going and govt is poking their hand more and more into the economy us small business guys are having alot of trouble.

i have been working twice as hard now. i really feel like there is a shit storm coming and i want to always be ahead of that storm. i feel like if i do not shit is going to hit the fan soon.

china is making huge investments in the sands, lots of money to be made up there. the ups and downs of internet marketing can be one huge headache thats for sure.

things are at that odd evening out time online. i truly believe things will pick up.

More moderation? Just like this

or like when Tube8 shit happened?

Read the thread. Huge evidence in that thread, videos & screenshots, and read what Eric wrote. Funny.

I think there has been too much banning. GFY is what it is because of drama ,flaming and trolling. There are still a handful of *business* websites around and they are on life support.

Wrong. There was not enough banning early on, so many business owners left.

The industry is changing, and many will not be coming back. They have went back to real world jobs, switched to mainstream, or donned a paper hat.

Most actual business owners are not going to put up with all the bullshit. Now that the industry is quickly changing, they have better things to do with their time and energy. A lot have grown older, and now have families, and other things more important in life going on. It is not a bunch of 20 something's working 18 hours a day like the good ole days.

As you get older, and have other time commitments, people are not going to put up with the bullshit if it does not make them money. Which is a wise business decision.

I agree. Thank God those "see sig" posts aren't around anymore clogging up all of the actual business of the board. We can all read in peace now, such a better experience overall. No idea why Eric didn't jump on that earlier, I can't imagine how many people fled during that fiasco.

Good call.

If something so simple as a 'see sig' on an industry board gives you that much agitation... I think you have bigger personal issues to deal with.
