After watching again... the guy did get out of the car in the wrong manner. He did do the wrong thing.

Perhaps the cop did feel threatened. After the guys out of the car ... he fucked up.

however. I still dont htink it needed to escalate to even getting out of the car. As you can see the officer had the taser ready before the door was all the way open. He was going to tase the guy no matter what im thinking.

They are both at fault. But I think the taser was a step too much...

For years my buddy Mike was famous because a COPS crew was on a ride a long when the cops broke up a HS party and the footage was used in the credits in later seasons.

nah i dont act up to cops. i keep my mouth closed. anytime cops have even tried to harass me i keep my mouth closed. not worth the trouble. i know alot of them are just looking for someone to play cowboy no so point in giving them an excuse.

A punishment of 3 days of suspension is not the same as prison. The cop assaulted an innocent with a potentially lethal weapon. Attempted man-slaughter. What a high-way bandit...

The tazer has really made many cops lazy. Too often it is used as a standard tool when performing an ordinary arrest. Originally the tazer was meant to replace the pistol when the officer's life is in danger. Not as a "compliance device".

The world would be a better place if the good cops had more influence in their departments. Unfortunately the most crooked power-hungry cops are the ones that rule their departments. Nowadays cops are more like a gang of thugs all wearing the same uniform.

I feel no pity for the widows of cops. They chose to marry a guy who works for the mob. They knew the risk.

Remember the little girl in Detroit who got shot and killed by SWAT recently? There was an A&E camera crew there with the police who videotaped the whole thing. Guns were obviously involved because the little girl got shot by one. In the head. The police chief then said that they would not allow camera crews to ride with their officers anymore after this incident. How does all this jive with what you said?

I think it was the lack of license plate that made the cop nervous. The guy's race may have been a factor too. Still no excuse and it's good to hear he was punished even if it was just 3 days.

The situation escalated in the cops eyes in about 2 seconds. This is a cop that's afraid of his own shadow.

My wife's favorite show is Cops, and sometimes I watch with her. I'm always the one to point out that the cops threw a guy to the ground too hard, or they didn't give someone a chance to respond. But I know the cops have a tough job, and we don't get to see any good things they do -- only this kind of shit. There's a lot more good going on than bad.

The media makes you think what they want you to think. How many people that hate cops actually had a situation like this happen? They only saw some video(s), and totally disregard everything else the cops do.

That's the thing about the cops.... they are supposed to be held to a higher standard than a Macy's security guard. The "bad" things they do should never happen. This wasn't "the media" trying to make us think anything. This was the cop's own dash cam. As long as the police remain in charge of the public trust and are paid with public funds, every single incident of "bad cop" needs to be seen by the public. Just because police officers aren't elected doesn't mean they aren't still accountable to all of us. Ten good deeds doesn't buy them a pass for a couple of bad ones. They aren't out there earning Cop Bucks.
