Does your host let you use nginx?
Or does your host or system administrator insist on using Apache? Quote:

				 | nginx runs great on top of apache too, handling static content very fast with less memory and resources

				 | I think it's that they don't want to support it, or know enough about configuring it. It's been around a long time now and has become pretty well established. http://news.netcraft.com/archives/20...er_survey.html

				 | Sometimes it can save you from spending more money on upgrading server hardware, so they should start supporting it. We are an unmanaged but you can add management to any machine a la carte hosting company, and we still support nginx and lighttpd along with Apache.

				 | a few years ago most of the hosts did not know what nginx was even nowdays most should be able to support it in a limited basis at least.

Normally I push lighttpd for my high traffic operations, but in this case it just couldn't keep up after 2 gigabits and all 500+ megabyte files. I love this little piece of software, allows me to push my servers further than I ever thought possible. | |
