I may in fact be an idiot, but I'm not dumb enough to trust the fucking police. ROFL! :1orglaugh

Hey Amp -- how would you feel if Tom Dong was one of your close buddies?

Just curious. Not trying to start anything...like I said, just curious.

Yeah, I know... those kinds of emotions are tough to deal with, and I can appreciate that those close to him or involved might very well have wished this guy dead a million times over. I can definitely appreciate that. If it was one of my close friends, I would probably want him questioned until they're blue in the face to find out why he did this.

But now.... no one will ever know. Not the public, not the families..... no one. And there is no reason this guy couldn't have been brought in alive and in one piece.

I disagree. He was facing homelessness, and he was pissed, and as a result he took a life and severely injured two others. That's why he did it.

If he had talent as a web designer, things would have ended differently.

If he had talent as a male performer, things would have ended differently.

And if cops are pointing guns in my face, I'm going to drop my weapon, and put my hands up in the air, and surrender peacefully. Otherwise, there's a good chance the cops are gonna whack me, and you know what? It's deserved.

have to agree to this ... no urgency .. not like if he was going to blow up a building ...
Cops could have waited, even offer him pizza .... :2 cents:

Hell, why not throw up a tent for him, bring some food for him and let him stay the night there and have a few cops stand watch? No other crime ever happens so clearly they had nothing better to do. He only killed someone, what's the big deal? :helpme

On a serious note, the flipside of the "if he wanted to kill himself he would have just done it earlier" is that if the cops wanted to just kill him and be done with it, they would have just done it earlier. Both statements are bullshit by the way.

Bird 06-07-2010 12:39 AM

That's fucking awesome...Funny he fell on his head and not his sword.

No, the police have to make sure they look like they've put in enough effort to satisfy people like yourself so you can say "Hey, they have other things to do!", then also make sure it looks like he fell on "accident" or possibly even "jumped".

Never mind the taser prongs in his back filling him with current.

This is very unfortunate.

Maybe Lady Gaga performance where she was bitten on neck with fake blood will help.

Here's a scenario anyone could have..

Say I'm having a bad year, nothing seemed to go right and I decided that I was gonna jump off a cliff (all shit aside that he murdered someone here).

Say I was at the cliff, and someone said there's some whack job on the cliff and he's gonna jump.. The cops come in and surround me.. to try and talk me off the edge.. I dont care what the cops have to say because Im in my own head at that moment..

Now.. this takes all day long, its really starting to wear on these cops being in the heat of the LA sun.. They get impatient and some ass-hat cop who has a shot shoots me with a bean bag and causes me to lose my footing and fall to my death..

Is it my fault or the cops fault who miscalculated what the outcome would be?

Circumstances or not no one should have been tased or shot in this.. The guy was gonna jump on his own or come off the edge.. then you can do what you gotta do.. I think this was overzealous police doing a fucked up job..

Now.. that out of the picture, do I think the dude should have just killed himself? Yes.. Should the police maybe have gunned him with something? No...

Those of us who live(ed) in Los Angeles, know exactly how the LAPD or surrounding police and sheriffs offices can be..

ok in this 'can happen to anyone' example does this include us being wanted for excessively violent murder with a weapon and involve you still holding this weapon when you are cornered at the cliff? Because that doesn't sound like something that could happen to me personally...

You all watching the same video that i saw? i saw the huge one of him falling from behind and it looked like he was trying to get away and side stepped down and then started sliding after that... i saw it a handful of times too..

I'm probably the last one to back up cops ever but what else are they supposed to do? He had a fucking lethal weapon IN HIS HAND! Probably the same one so all 'innocent until proven guilty' claims go out the window because this person is a danger to other officers, or if he got away other citizens... You think they should just run up to him and give a suspected armed murderer a big hug instead? If they shot him in the arm I wouldn't even call that excessive.. no less tasering... If they planned on just killing him they would have just shot him up with bullets, not tasers...

Gotta make it look "accidental" for the adoring public.

They don't have to be that close to him, we wouldnt be endangering anyone but himself.. Thats the point I am making, let him off himself, or choose to put the sword down and step away from the edge.. I said in my above post ignore the fact he is/was a murderer.. if it was any one of us, say we had a swiss army knife on our neck.. and you get shot with a less than lethal device, lose your footing then fall??????

Say one more hour I woulda just done it, or I would have put the knife down, then stepped away on my own will... and then I would have gotten locked up in LA mental health for at least 2 weeks, then I would be re-evaluated after that and sent home after I got the help I needed..

There are always multiple sides to a story, but I think the cops reacted pretty wrong in this instance.. its not like he was swinging the sword at the cops necks.. he held it at his chest the whole time.. maybe they felt injured by the glare off the sword..

This man just took a life 48 hours before. He injured another so severely it appears an amputation is in order. This was done with witnesses to the fact.

Maybe they felt it was time to do what was necessary.

I know if I was a cop staring at a dude who just whacked someone and was not putting down a lethal weapon after he was told to do so I'd have a hard time not pulling the trigger.

You should apply for the police academy. You'd fit right in.

I'm not pro cop.

But in this case it was justified. That's all I'm saying. To defend this guy is as ludicrous as saying all cops are bad.

I am not defending the alleged crimes he committed.
I'm defending the fact that this alleged murderer had rights the same as you & me. Rights that the police discarded like a used Krispy Kreme box.
I am defending the fact that the police are not authorized to judge and execute suspects. It ain't their job. And it makes them criminals.

You watch too much tv. :2 cents:

This thread should die like that murdering asshole died. Fucker gave up his rights when he didn't comply with the cops. I know some don't like that, but that's the way our society is. The cops have the authority and responsibility to act in these scenarios, and they did. You don't like it, get a tent and go into Canada and hide out.

I feel no pity for the"alleged" murderer.
