![]() I wanted to update you guys on the stray cat I took in a couple of months ago and last week I was telling everyone about how his kidneys were shot and I was afraid he was going to die. Well, over the past week, I have given him twice a day subcutaneous fluids, forced food down his throat (man, that was fun) and basically given him all the love and affection I could. There were a couple of days mid-week when I thought I'd be taking him to the vet the next day to be put down. He didn't have hardly any energy and it looked like life had become a chore for him.
But then on Friday, he started going to the food bowl on his own and showing interest in eating again. Several times during the day, I'd hear him muching on dry food, without me even pointing him to the bowl. He got better and better through the day and Friday night he went out and killed a big fruit rat. Today he has been eating better than any time since I have had him. I believe we may have turned the corner and he will pull through. I don't know how long this will last and I'm not getting my hopes up too high but this makes me feel really good. The old boy may hang in there after all. Here are some pictures I took a few minutes ago - he looks good! Thanks to all of you who gave me tips on getting him to eat. He did eat some babby food. ![]() |

He is looking good :-) I hope he is turning the corner back to good health. You are a good soul to look after Mr. Whitey like you have been.

Congrats on your cat's recovery. I can empathize with your ordeal. I wouldn't be able to sleep if my dogs get sick.
