I was thinking about buying a camera cause sadly enough, I have never owned one. I saw this HD video camcorder and its cheaper than most cameras. I saw some sample footage on youtube and it seems pretty solid. Only problem is you can only get stills from the video through the editing software. Do you think this is worth a buy or should I just buy a regular camera? With the camcorder I may be able to make some future ex gf content of my own.

this camera will take better pictures by far, if you want a small cheap camera (also shoots video too)

I heard that the regular flip took better video than the flip HD, not sure how true that is but the Flip Ultra got better reviews at Newegg than the Flip UltraHD.

You can shoot underwater which is cool cause snorkling in San Diego is pretty nice. I've wasted my money on dumber things.

I just got the Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera

I like it. It's not going to replace my Canon HV40, but it's great for the price.
I got a 32GB card and it can record all night with USB mini powder plug.

Living at the beach I need the waterproof feature.

Record about 20 min per 1 GB at 720p HD at 30 fps. Actual results may vary.

I got a 32GB 30MB/s card so it should have lot of time

Bottom line its not real HD but 720p which is 2 steps down. Inexpensive, good unit in the end - can't complain.

How is that 2 steps down...? Isnt 1080p real HD? and one step down is 720p?

Even with the Electronic image stabilization, users need to learn how to hold the camera steady.

720 pixels tall is considered hd, just not full hd, allot of hd programming is 720
full hd = 1080 pixels tall
