Canadian population sure is aging. 25 percent of the population will be senior citizens by 2036. Business people can cash in on this trend by offering more useful products to the aging populations.

All health care systems are under increasing pressure. Due to aging populations, life style and the increasing price of health technology, drugs and procedures.

Expect costs to rise which will have to be paid by premiums or taxes.

Get rid of insurances and government welfare and prices would be forced down.

            lol and crime would skyrocket...

in regards to the article, it looks like they just want to reassess the costs. Reduce the cost of generic drugs and other things that should be cheaper due to todays technology but cost the same as they did 10 years ago.

The funny thing is, his little blurb there is actually true. The need for more people in funeral services, in-home care, elderly care, and of course products for that industry are going to go through the roof in the next 10-15 years. Ontario is going to be a huge market for it too.

We should all be looking at ditching the penis pills business model and selling fountain of youth products.

The 10s if not 100s of billions of dollars being defrauded away is not skyrocked crime?

The reason the prices are the same, if not more, is because it is subsided by insurance and the government.

Yeah all systems are facing this problem, except in the socialized ones EVERYONE is burdened. As the cost of health care skyrockets even the young and healthy will get HUGE tax hikes and likely reduced care. With systems in the private sector we have the freedom to choose and pay for the level of service we want.

Health care costs aren't driven by socialized medicine. They're driven by greed. Check out the profits made by pharm companies... Their is little if no consumer protection

Elective care services have always been on the decline because there is no government or insurance company involvement.

if you ever listen to AM radio more than half of the commercials are aimed at middle age and up baby boomers selling fountain of youth bogus products.

And death rates will rocket to levels in the third world. Most people will not put money aside for the day they need to be looked after. Hospitals and GPs will become less and those who do operate will want to know your bank balance before they do a thing. They will be forced to operate on the wealthy only.

That will probably be more than offset by Canada's renewed immigration drive though. The key is to maintain the same level of quality in their human capital by maintaining the quality of the educational system.
