What Journalism Can Learn From Adult Entertainment

    Here's another interesting article:

Imagine you are working in an industry that has been battered by the recent recession and rapid advances in technology. Instead of paying for teams of professionals, people are going online to find new content like yours or create their own. The Internet has opened the door to thousands of competitors, all offering content that appeals to just about any niche or taste.

When it's all said and done, the internet is going to hand just about every industry who owns intellectual property, their ass.

A beautiful monster has been created. There is no "adapt or die" there is simply, hold on and try to keep up until the beast swallows you whole.

"Now more than 40 percent of Pink Visual's 800,000 daily unique visitors are coming in on mobile platforms"

Unless their main sites just suck that bad, that is BS.

I love it when people start comparing a chicken to a cow because they both live on a farm.

Comparing journalism to porn is even more far fetched. The porn consumer in general can get off to anything and the cost of producing porn is very low. Plus it does not have to be up to date, it could of been produced 2 years ago and still bringing in money and paying the producer.

Journalism has to be to the point, produced every day and costs far more money than a porn movie. No one wants last weeks news. Without the revenue to pay for journalists to go out and find the news every day that's what you might end up with. You can't copy yesterdays news.

Blowout deal. 880 videos, 2,400 image sets, plus many RAW videos. $500.

              No, it isn't.

Regardless of what you think of the veracity of that metric, how does it have anything whatsoever to do with the quality of our "main sites"? That seems like a complete non sequitur to me.
