Second, they should never stop paying affiliates who picked the 50/50 lifetime revshare. This is fraud, plain and simple. You can decide, as a Paysite owner to stop accepting NEW memberships and close the Pay Per Signup program, but not the Revshare rebills. Those revenues are owned by the affiliate.

I'm a paysite owner myself and decided to stop promoting and accepting new memberships because I was not making an interesting Return on Investment.

A program with about 5000 active members stopping paying revshare rebills at 65% retention represents over 14200 rebills. At $15 each, it's $213,000 USD in their pocket they steal from the revshare affiliates.

(And believe me, a LOT of members re-join the sites without the referal ID... once they know the site, they cancel and rejoin later (cookie expired) - so it's almost the double of $$)

I think Wegcash stopped due to the new Visa regulations. Regarding Adult Profit, I hope it's because of their 'celebrity' type of sites that has a lot of refund/chargeback and low retention (I guess).

Anyway, in any case... an one month notice would be the minimum, plus keeping the revshare rebills active.

I think you have hit the nail on the head......it seems some programs are taking this route and basically taking a nice income with them as they move onto a non affiliate model.

Still I think my theory of "rise together" holds some water.

There are plenty of sites still selling. It is doom and gloom if you have a cushy lifestyle that is in jeopardy cause the shit's no longer flying. Most affils never had a cushy lifestyle to begin with. (more bitterness

) For us we fly on (change links) to someone who does sell and life goes on. There is no real doom and gloom for affils as some want us to think.

Only an idiot would leave affil money on the tabe. And the major players are far from idiots. That is proof itself that affils are NOT in trouble. We just have work to do.

I see now days as a strengthening as guys like me trim from 200 to 10 this year. As we trim, that money will buy new quality paysites that DO sell.

Anyhow that belief is my (affils) only real hope.

You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. The affiliate model is all but dead. The few affiliates, (and I do mean a few) who can bring something creative to the table can still get paid out. But who really needs the others anymore. Hell, there are a few main traffic sources now, and a company can submit their own stuff just as easy and walk away with 100%.

First was the mad scramble to the "BIG" programs paying out 100+ PPS, scamming the shit out of customer to cover costs, putting just about every "mom pop" site out of business in the process.

The came the tube that put those big sites out of business and in turn most of the affiliates who supported them.

Someday "they" (the hypothetical sponsors you refer to) might once again have something that sells, but they have permanently written off all affils if they pull shenanigans like AP "appear" (hopefully not) to be pulling and don't make a statement on if rebills will be payed.

I'm not owed but it is the principal. Post a statement you are paying rebills. That is the reason I came to this thread as the letter makes no mention.

Maybe you have been in this business for 13 years, but seriously your site is not a good representation. Sure, niche like yours will always work. But no affiliate will become rich by promoting niches like that. That is the main issue.

Teen/Gonzo content producers are out of the game. The bigger ones, (Studios such as Zero Tolerance), sign exclusively with tube paysites or videobox, etc.

The 'middle-class' porn webmaster is screwed up. The Upper class (independent paysite owners, etc) are struggling to compete with the million deals between Holywood Studios (Content) and big paysites (Brazzers, VideoZ, etc.)

Bottom line is that within 2 years, we won't see much independent Teen/Gonzo paysites. They will all close. Even Studios and exclusive paysites such as Brazzers will struggle versus the Tube Sites. A lot more people are looking for amateur videos, and young adults love to show it for free... as they love showing their butt dancing on Youtube.

TGPs/MGPs are dying. Some of them sell their spots to Tube Sites... they are closing shop slowly.

CJ? Freesites? Pic Gallery? Movie Gallery? FLV Gallery? They are no competition to 20 minutes Tube videos. How can you advertise on a Tube site anyway? You want HD? Hell, 80% of the porn surfers don't care if the videos are not in 720/1080p, only the purists.

This industry is stupid. No respect, no restriction, nothing. This is not even capitalism, it's a jungle. In a good economy, you can't sell your milk under a certain price. There is a minimum salary, etc. This is to protect the economy which we are completely screwing up in Adult since 1999.

There will always be money in porn. But forget the affiliates making $50,000 per month like in 2000-2010.

Keeping rebills is way wrong but if everybody's rebills dried up this year like mine then.. eh nothing to take. The rebills are drying up so why not just pay them out and save your rep. Adult Profit was around almost since day one and they've run their course. It's that simple. They were a good program who always paid on time with great webmaster support which is alot more than I can say for alot of shit ass programs out there.

The few affiliates, (and I do mean a few) who can bring something creative to the table can still get paid out. But who really needs the others anymore. Hell, there are a few main traffic sources now, and a company can submit their own stuff just as easy and walk away with 100%. First was the mad scramble to the "BIG" programs paying out 100+ PPS, scamming the shit out of customer to cover costs, putting just about every "mom pop" site out of business in the process. The came the tube that put those big sites out of business and in turn most of the affiliates who supported them.
