    "I Sell the Dead" Sucks Ass



    Throwing this out to the horror / zombie clan.

    I heard so much hype about this thing. Great reviews by Rue Morgue, the casting was good, the story line was interesting, everyone who had seen it said you need to see it.

    Tbbbbbt!

    Its not total garbage, it has a few awesome moments but its one of those situations where the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Good performances turned in by most of the cast, makeup is good, the Murphy Gang is def a high point- but the movie itself has odd pacing, large blocks of dialog that are unfunny and go nowhere, there's even a part w/ an alien that made me want to turn it off.

    Just my two cents. A boring waste of potential. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.

          We ran out and rented it as soon as it came available, big dissapoint. I noticed it's on cable at the moment so I thought I'd throw it out there to save anyone, or at least at a minimum lower their expectations.

          Sometimes when you go into a movie expecting it to suck you get pleasently surprised by little moments of joy.

          Oh- and to everyone who was discussing it with me a few months ago, I did finally get my hands on Dead Snow. Not sure if I posted it here or not. It was good. It didn't completely knock my socks off, but it was FUN. So few movies are real fun anymore. It felt like a throwback to good 80's slashers with upgraded zombies and effects. Really for what I would imagine the budget to have been its quite good. Dead Snow gets a

              Everyone is a zombie fan nowadays. I am hardly impressed by anything new that is out there. Still, thanks for the heads up. Angus "The Tall Man" Scrimm is still solid in my book.

                          Zombies have jumped the shark, but it's been calming down a bit. Everyone's preoccupied with Vampires.

                          I met Angus Scrimm about a year and a half ago. Not much to say about it, he's like a nice old grandpa.

                              I guess probably the best way to sum up what I was thinking is after reading the reviews of "I Sell the Dead" I expected the next "Cemetary Man".

                              It has a few Cemetary Man qualities at times, but it doesn't really come close.

                                  A couple zombie movies I enjoyed:

                                  Day of the dead (just finally got me the original "Night of the living dead")

                                  Return of the living dead (so many similar titles I hope I'm not confusing it but I mean the 1985 Dan O'Bannon movie)

                                  Fido - that was a great recent one, loved the humor
