                              Can I ask a question...If these are all real joins (people clicking on a link and joining the site) and not just a bunch of x-sells...then why on Earth aren't you wanting revshare? Especially if you are going to carefully choose which paysite to "promote" (again, if it's NOT x-sells)

                              If it is just x-sells then just ignore my question since it's then irrelevant. (and no, I'm not attacking x-sells, I'm just asking about these "joins" since nobody can force other human beings to join anything)

                                      its the webmasters choice i guess.

                                      your sites are good for retention? you should be able to offer a pps...even if its not 100 like the cross sale sites.
                                      people will take a pps...and if you truly retain well enough...you will make more money by paying out up front

                                                                  We do PPS as well as revshare...but I think last time you posted something like this the rate was way too high for someone like me to compete with. Our PPS is $25. I use common sense with my PPS. A membership cost $29.99
                                                                  $25 plus the biller processing fee and I'm already losing money on an initial sale (not to mention that we shoot our own content, our hosting costs, 2257 costs, talent costs, etc., etc. etc.), so I can't offer any kind of suicidal crazy ass rates. Are they still looking for those $45 and up PPS?

                                                                  They'd still make more money with me going revshare over time. Just sayin...If they will do $25 PPS (which I'm sure you're laughing at) then I'm game. But you're gonna have to show me it's NOT x-sells. If it's x-sells I'll pay no more than $12 (again you're probably laughing at me)

                                                                  But since I won't be "re-monetizing" these "joins" I can't afford to do anything that doesn't make rock solid business sense based on my membership cost of $29.99

                                                                      Robbie, it goes both ways. If the paysite can monetize the rebills then they can also afford a higher PPS. Pay per signup is popular for a reason, people want their money and they want it fast, and don't want to have to worry about retention, or a company going under down the road... Maybe they have high overhead and need the money back quick to pay the expenses involved in generating those sales.

                                                                      Also it's a lot easier to push volume joins to a new product, which is why Brad is always shopping around for new sponsors with new sites... Popping out his own new exclusive paysites every few months would be time consuming, costly, and obviously isn't what his clients core business is (which is generating leads for the guys who like to run paysites).

                                                                      I feel ya, I wouldn't pay a PPS over $25 either, but some companies can and those are the guys that attract the volume these days.

                                                                                          Yeah, that was my point. Since I'm not gonna x-sell the x-sell I really have no way to pay those high rates to these kinda deals. I get offers all the time in the $15 to $17 range to buy x-sells...but I'm just not gonna do it. Too much desperation out there right now and I don't want to buy a "join" that's already been x-sold 5 times. I'll lose my ass in the end on that kind of deal (Not saying that is the kind involved here, I'm just talking risk management for "just in case")
