                  phpbb is the free forum script. However, it does not have good enough features against spam bots. I made a forum with phpbb and every day 10 bots signed up who posted spam of penis pill, viagra and other products, instead of interesting useful posts. The captcha protection did not help. You can use phpbb, but you would have to moderate your forum to delete the spamming posts.
