                          The Diplomat has been fucky with startwood points at the show. I'm an SPG, usually I get a nice ocean view corner room w/ balcony for the show as a perk just for being a member. Last year when I showed up I couldn't even get a king bed and the hotel was not sold out. Wound up with a 2 queen standard room- starwood floor but who cares. Then they charged me for late check out, just BS all around.

                          Only benefit is if you have the starwood amex you get double points on every buck you spend, so I go nuts with it- even use it at the little coffee bar downstairs.

                                  you should have called SPG about that and used a Amex Plat or higher card with the reservation.... last time few years ago i had as issue... called SPG and they put the property in their "place" and I wasnt being a dick or anything but just poorrrrr service and such..and just utter "go fuck yourself" mentally from theproperty... SPG took care of it though ...

                                      I always use my SPG amex platinum card when I book. I know its not the black card and I'm not the highest roller in the place, but this last time around was below par even if I wasn't a member. Especially since the hotel wasn't even fully booked. There was no reason my room shouldn't have been ready, and charging me for late checkout I felt kind of went beyond the pale.

                                      I should have called SPG, thanks Juicy.

                                              Hey everyone...just got an update from the hotel and it is booking up quicker than in past years! Don't wait till the last minute to book assuming this is like Internext. Remember...we have the entire industry coming this time and all staying in the same hotel It will be awesome but you don't want to be stuck miles down the road at a different hotel when the happening place is the Westin!

                                              And...for all of you who have had a bad experience with the Westin in the past...I apologize. I will address this with the hotel personally. We want you all to love the hotel the same way we do! So let me know if there is anything else I can help with!
