Was curious to see some feedback on this. For many years now I've generally done $2.50 - $3.50 for $20 or less (i.e. depending on if the change is more or less than 50 cents is how I determine where in that range) and more if the order is larger depending on how much. Here in sunny San Diego, the pizza places are all pretty close by (like Dominos tonight...I could fucking walk there if I wasn't lazy, lol), weather is almost always nice, and ultimately not a whole lot of work they really have to do to get their tip compared to other places I'm sure, but looking online and seeing a lot of people say 20%, wanted to see what people here said.
How much do you tip the pizza delivery person?

$5-$6 for the last 7 years or so, when you tip decent the drivers fight for your order as they know you tip well so that 45-60 minutes usually turns into 20-25, first name basis with all of them, even had them stop at 7 eleven and grab me smokes a few times. Its interesting to see that people are able to TIP on average some PIZZA guy between 3 to 6 dollars... BUT they will NEVER EVER join an adult PAYSITE for 5 bucks... Very interesting...

I used to tip $5.00. Then they started including a "delivery fee" of $2.50, or something like that to the total for the Pizza. So now I tip $2 or 3 bucks.Comment

I was tipped above $10, on less than $20 worth of pies, twice in 30,000 deliveries.
Over 50% tip.. it does happen.

) I would be kicking that night.

Normally about $2-$3. The only time I have ever really gone above that was a few years ago on New Years we ordered 6 or 7 pizzas and a few orders of breadsticks so I think we all pitched in a few bucks and tipped the driver about $12. She was very happy!Comment

Worst was if you see religious stuff on the windows of the porch.. forget it.. friendliest people but no tip. Otoh go to some motel or hotel where say two guys.. gays tip great and never threaten you

60% includes dorm and college kids who altho many tip (mostly young women), many more dont (usually young males the worse tipping demographic and yet a heavy orderer.
Ahh I remember the dorms.. the cute little girlies would have to wait in the lobby of dorms as we couldn't go wander into them so they would come down in there little nighty outfits.
Oh there were some cute ones. And of course there were some good looking young ladies living on their own in apts. With their shoes off BF. 
It was a great job. $10/hour after tips. Maybe $12 today as min wage went up. But you seen so much.
It was always fun delivering to the jails (gaurds) and feeling like Don Adams going though the gates. Ahh so many stories.
Worst parts: 4th floor apts with no elevator and usually the worst tippers, male college students.
You can park anywhere. You could even burn one on the job, tho I would never do that.
It was fun. 
Hehe, the whole roster of employees were relatives of Jim Breur. lol It was the 90's

A friend of mine lived in southern California for a while and worked part time as a pizza deliver driver. He said the same thing. Everyone knew who the good tippers were and they would jump to deliver to them and stop at those places first if they were delivering to more than one place.

He also lived near Camp Pendleton and he said whenever the Marines would call in an order nobody would volunteer to deliver and the manager would have to draw names from a hat. The reason was the guys would order a bunch of pizzas and they would never tip. He said once he delivered 16 pizzas to them and didn't even get a single dollar for a tip.
I can understand the service guys not having a lot of money, but you would think they could come up with an extra buck or two especially when they ordered so much. . . but I guess they felt like since they were ordering so much they didn't have to tip.Comment

A friend of mine that is a cop once got called to an apartment building because a car alarm kept going off. He goes to the door where the owner lives and this smoking hot girl answers the door naked. He can see behind her on the couch another hot, naked girl and a nude dude.
She was really nice, apologized and never once tried to cover herself up. After that if there was ever a report of an alarm going off the cops would race each other to see who could get there to answer the call the fastest.Comment
