Actually the Tesla is based off of a Lotus, so I would imagine there's a non compete.

looks like that designer of aston martin did that... he designed an aston martin copy for jaguar and now a copy from a copy for lotus.... the design is very nice but maybe he can come up with something new.

I drove a friends Lotus Esprit once. Unbelievably fast and it was just a 4 cylinder engine! What a sweet machine.
