Nobody says it's a bad thing. But how does paying taxes on the air we breathe accomplish anything other than allowing them to tax a basic element of life and another bureaucracy giving a bunch of treehugging dogooders some sort of wannabe godly powers to run around and tell everyone how they should live. We need much much less people telling other people how they should live their lives not more.. In addition making a bunch of fatcats richer while making you and I broke via increased costs of everything.

Also couple this with the FACT that the carbon trading SCHEME was the brainchild of Al Gore's buddy Ken Lay (Enron). They could give a shit about the Earth, environment, or you for that matter. The oil spill should tell you that.. You don't see AL Gore down in the gulf picking up dead turtles and pelicans do ya? All these people care about is passing some "law">statute to force you to give them more of your money so they can pass it around to each other while paying some $8 an hour too stupid to make it on the police force, highschool dropout, treehugging hippie with a badge on a power trip and a government approved checklist to come and do a home inspection on you. It's about money and control.. It's a scam. Nothing more, nothing less.

I love all the "We've read the science" people... Lol just like they "read the science" about the ozone layer, deforestation, soil erosion, A coming ice age, acid rain, blah blah blah. Logic beats non logical science.

The thing about 'science' is most studies .... no ALL studies are funded by someone or something. The vast majority of studies are funded by a business, group or entity with an agenda, and they are hoping the study 'proves' what they want it to prove. By fiddling with the tests to make sure they come out the way you want is a great way to claim the 'science' about things.

Its very much the same with global warming, so much money to be made with an ets that there were studies done all over the world and most came in with this global warming thing .. or climate change now i think they call it. Fact is now that people are looking at the actual raw data and starting to question some of these findings .. it seems the planet isn't warming up at all.

Trillions of dollars at stake .. of course people are going to do anything to get an ETS through .. theres massive money to be made.

Do we need to reduce polution .. of course we do. Do we need a massive tax on existing and breathing ... of course not. Its a money grab

You have to remember that global warming is happening very slowly.

It is hard to take the people seriously when they do stupid things. Like Al Gore and his new $9 million dollar mansion. I guess all the other properties they own are just too damn small for him and the wife. Two people definitely need thousands and thousands of square feet of living space.
