I have zero debt...other than one credit card I use for on line purchases...which I pay off monthly. I own everyhing I have. I do not have a wife or children and I usually spend between $1000.00-$2000.00 per month probably with an average of around $1500.00 per month.

xxweekxx 05-22-2010 02:56 PM

Rent: 3,600
Car(gas/wash,etc): 400
food(i eat lotta grass fed beef/organic) fucking thing is $20 a lb $2k/month
Bills like phone, cable, internet, $500
Party/play money: 1500

About 8k a month or so,, sucks but thats what i spend monthly on average.. anywhere from 8 to 10k

$150 per month for weed
$40 (maybe a little more or less) on lotto tickets

Moms pays all other bills and foodstamps takes care of the food...

I can survive on about $550 per month. I make more than that though and spend the extras on escorts.

I always ask myself how are Euro guys doing to survive, still working in a decadent business, specially in UK, one of the most expensive countries in the world.

Since Euro is shrinking now, maybe a few central euro guys are still doing fine, but if you need the pound, wow.. I would pay to sit on their desktop for 8 hours one day and see what kind of magic they do...

Chosen 05-23-2010 08:59 PM

While I'm home I can live off $500/month I think.
When I'm travelling expenses are higher, but not much :)

This is one of the funniest threads and pics I have seen. It's funny regarding the fat vs thin issue, also. :thumbsup

How the hell can all of you guys have so few bills? Are you all living with parents or room mates and no overhead? Most of you listed at most four or five items or a pretty vague description adding up to a paltry monthly budget. I wish I could live as simply as some of you. I don't live extravagantly but my list is almost twenty items long: rent, health insurance, electric, city water, phone/DSL, satellite tv, alarm service, gym, car payment, car insurance, cell phone, groceries, nutritional supplements, contact lenses, gasoline, house cleaner, newspaper, some entertainment expenses plus one credit card payment. That's easily $3500 per month for me without taking into account business expenses like employees, domains, hosting, software & services.

I obviously spend more money than I listed in this thread, I figured the point of the thread was to show your bare minimum... I'll answer the first question though, house is 100% paid off so no rent or mortgage :)

health insurance - live dangerously
electric/city water - listed
phone/DSL, satellite tv, cell phone - 1 cell phone which I barely use, have basic cable so I can have internet
alarm service - nope
gym - nope
car payment - paid in cash
car insurance - $160/yr here, didn't feel like mentioning
groceries - listed
nutritional supplements - lol that's pretty elective
contact lenses - got lasik this year
gasoline - not really a "living expense" imo...
house cleaner - clean my own place thanks
newspaper - lol?
some entertainment expenses - defeats the purpose of thread
plus one credit card payment - not an expense but rather a method of transferring money

I think people in this thread are confusing elective pleasure type expenditures with expenses... More people should think outside the box though and discover what they can live without :winkwink: Different way of thinking and approaching life really.

Need about $3000 to $3500 a month. That's for bills, food, travel (I travel quite a lot), 2 cars, boat, my expensive hobbies (technical diving and flying).

I think 1000$/mo and I can live , but I would like to get 2000-2500/mo ,that would be perfect for me.

Sabby 05-24-2010 03:00 AM

Im a simple girl. $ 5k.

Sabby:)

TeenCat 05-24-2010 03:11 AM

i am single, in my own house, need under 1k for bills and food and around 1k for my life ... i am a happy man here in czech republic :)

Nicky 05-24-2010 05:51 AM

To get by I'd say ~$2k. That would suck majorly though.

Your list includes a lot of luxuries that many people do not purchase.

Rent: $460
Insurance: From work
Electric: $70
Water: $0
Gas: $20
Cable/phone/internet: $160
Alarm: $0
Gym: $0
Car: paid off
Car insurance: $20
Cell: $0
Food: $300
Vitamins: ~$0
Gasoline: $20
Contacts: $0
House cleaner: $0
Newspaper: $0

I never understand why people think that if someone else spends less money than they do that person must live a shitty life. It doesn't make sense. Simply a different lifestyle. A lot of your expenses I have absolutely no need for.

JayDeeZee 05-24-2010 10:21 AM

I spend less than I make.

cosis 05-24-2010 10:21 AM

single versus married with kids is a big difference as far as expenses

LAJ 05-24-2010 10:26 AM

Why would anyone talk about their personal expenses online? wow... just wow.

ilnjscb 05-24-2010 10:34 AM

Where the fuck are people getting cell phones for $20/mo.?

This thread makes me feel like a slave to the dollar. I'm doing something wrong.

There is no way to do it here for less than 10k/m
