![]() I was thinking about this last night.
When I first started in the industry I was something like 21 and I was being called names like 'youngster'. There was a real feeling that most of the folks were atleast in their 30's. Now, I am running into more and more people that sound like they are running mini porn empires from their freshman dorm rooms. Nothing wrong with that as such. Just wondering if I was the only one feeling that shift. Is it a good or bad thing? |

I think its a solid mix of all ages. I dont count some gallery making newb who does this 4 hours a week, part of the "industry". I dont think you can say you work in this industry until its your sole means of survival. And doing ok at it, not living revshare check to revhsare check eating ramen and living with your folks.
And if you are judging by board attendence, then yeah, your view of age of who works in this business is gonna be skewed. |

Fuck, I'm 45 and I feel ancient compared to all you young lucky fuckers. But in the mind, you always feel like you're still in your 20's fortunately.
Most guys I know in the biz are in their late 20's early 30's. Most of the old timers have made a ton of bucks and still do it for kicks. Seems like a lot of really young guys getting in now. That's awesome! Keep 'em coming lots of room for everyone in this biz!!

Yeah I think Labret speaks a lot of sense (checks, nope I haven't started drinking yet)..maybe it is just that the youngsters are more vocal. Having this as your only means of income sure does make you treat it rather more seriously.
