this is very interesting thread. the question is do they exist or not, it is hiliaruaous how many people take it personally, will they come here, or not, being abducted etc. what kind of interest you can have to anybody? - same as you would be interested in somebody else. if you think someone is after you to kill you, w/o any significat proof - what do you tell about yourself? sounds like incompetence, inconfedence..

another thing about aliens.. go on a trip do a dessert, spend couple of month there completely alone, during that time ask yourself are you completely alone in this world.

when, if you get a chance spend time alone from other species fo your own nature you will talk to rock, sky, tree, you will talk with them so serious cuz only then you will know they hear ya.

I agree that people get all worked up over something that is so unlikely to happen in their lifetime (or ever) that it is silly. People are more likely have monkeys fly out of their butts than to ever see or get some sort of "message" from an intelligent alien species.

No one is disputing that there is life on Earth, but any Earth-like planet, if indeed one exists, is probably so far away as to make it a moot point.

There is not evidence for the existence of God. There is much more chaos and dissolution in the Universe than any evidence of logic or coherence.

People who think it's absurd that the Universe sprang out of nothing are correct, but not in the way they intend. As I heard one physicist explain it, to speak of the Universe springing into being reveals more about the way we think than about any actual facts. We think "Before the Universe, there was a time when the Universe didn't exist." However, this is absurd, because in order for time to exist something must exist, because the whole notion of time is wrapped up in the concept of process. Their can't be a second hand ticking without a clock, in other words, and without a ticking second hand (a metaphor, perhaps, for the steady decay of atoms or leaves falling off a tree, as you wish), how could time itself exist?

Time began when the Universe began. Hard for us to conceive, but that seems to be the way it is. There was no "time before time when something caused the Universe to exist."
