    Domain For Sale - Dating (.com ) + More !

    Wow ! thats a domain I think will attract a lot of interest at the upcomming Snapnames/Moniker Auction on May 13th.

    Dating (.com ) market range $1m - $5m ...I wonder if someone here will buy it and for how much ????? ! .

          It IS a great domain obviously, BUT the thing is that most dating sites are basically trying to play up another angle...either MATCHING or FLIRTING or, on the adult side, FUCKING...because most people HATE dating. :P So I'm not sure it really would sell that high.

                          Rights to the federal trademark registration (Reg No. 2580467) for the mark “Dating.com”.

                          I would have agreed with you if it wasnt for this statement..but it seems everything is trademarked though these days ! even names you would think stood no chance of getting accepted due thier common use.....i guess in this case its the .com part with it as opposed to the actual word dating.

                              You can't trademark the TERM Dating unless it was for something completely unrelated to dating (like surely Monster.com has Monster TM'd for anything job/career related). You can however trademark any full domain, and it's smart to do so so that you can scoop up typos in UDRPs.

                                              Well the site starting the trend is already fading away. The media isn't giving it a boost anymore and the novelty seems to be wearing off a bit. That's partly why the domains I got to sell based on its popularity could be possibly used for other things, while there's not much else you can really do with WebCamRoulette, or at least that the name would benefit any more than any other. I realize it gets collateral traffic from ChatRoulette but if that site starts to die fast, there goes the value of that domain. Very high risk for that kind of price.

                                                      that federal registered trademark is worth as much as the paper its written on.
                                                      That trademark clearly states its a descriptive TM/Domain and cannot be trademarked by USPTO.
