after .com, .net, .org, what else should you get?
Interesting threads with the Sextraffic guys. Made me ponder what extensions we should get to protect our business. Most of us own alot of domains, and it would cosat a fortune to get every extension for every domain that we develope, but on the other hand, it can really come back to bite you if someone decides to cybersquat your name
Is it a question of pay now, or pay much more later? What extensions after the big 3 should we get to protect our business? |

Location: New York.... Not the city... Up north further. Its about a six hour drive to the city from here. I don't like the city much. The air is not as clean, but they do have better strip clubs.

Spend the money on applying for the trademark... Then if you are sucessfull you'll have that card to play. Could be helpful in other situations too.

![]() If you run a business, then you should definitely trademark and copyright your site as well as buy the .com, .net, .org and .us if you operate in the US. It's really a small investment, especially when you can buy bulk domains at godaddy for $7 per year. Anyways, the more domains you have, the better it is, make sure to link them all together.
.us is only for US based companies, so you only need to buy 4 extensions in order to protect yourself; .com,.net,.org and your country extension. We own 1200 domains, but the amount of traffic generated just by link popularity due to the fact that they are all linked together more than pays the yearly $7. just my ![]()
