one of the best to ever call a ballgame, silenced at 92 - one of the last of a dying breed, a true Southern gentleman. that voice will be missed. i don't even like baseball much but that guy I loved.

I used to listen to him call Tiger games when I was a kid. My dad used to listen to WJR in his business and in the car all the time during Tiger games. I remember when they didn't renew him and the uproar that it caused. Ahh childhood memories.
