Totally not dissing you, god knows I do the same thing. But the fact we do really points to some of the shittiest parts of this business IMO.

Maybe producers should hit THEM with a "kill fee" if the agent or their talent calcels. Time is money, and wasted time is like being jacked! :2 cents:

I get them if im pissed. LA Direct pays $200 per. and i get them from others too. But thats a drop in the bucket when you are dealing with a large crew+location.

we get like $100 credit however with location and crew kills fee $100 doesn't really go the far :)

I feel you in that. I rent out my studio to shooters and companies, I have a "if your scene fails or you dont get your scene for what ever reason you dont pay" policy.

Im a shooter and i have been there before. All of your profits go to kill fees. It really sux ass!!

One of the Naughty America crews had that happen and this person had to pay a $200 kill for the girl, crew fees and 6 hours of studio time. I told this person, just clean up and put everything back and we are good. Zero charge for your failed scene. If you dont make money, i dont want to make money. Its good business in a time like this. And people remember that shit.

This person was happy, but still in the red. I wish locations did that for me when i rented.

I have a pretty high success rate getting models to show up for me and a crew that works for me regularly, so even on the days a model flakes outright people tend to be understanding and I manage to limit my losses as much as posible. Still, even occassionally losing a couple hundred or few hundred dollars due to a no-show really blows. I haven't had to pay a kill fee myself in a very long time. I have had agents make a model reimburse me for an outright no-call, no-show day if I re-book the model for another job and deduct it from her pay. That's usually the easiest way to get a model to resolve those situations and recoup one's losses.

I didn't realize this was a race... but here are photos of me at three years old on my doorstep in South London, doing what comes naturally:

Beat you be a couple of decades. :1orglaugh

Reading this thread I'm really glad I never moved to the US.

AND

Why do people argue with Gideon Gallery? He obviously knows nothing about the business and how it works. Put him on ignore and keep him there. Anyone who reads him and follows his advice is obviously as dumb as he is and will never make it.
