Thanks, that is very nice to hear. I run the Sales department over here and I have two reps, I've had more and they have come and gone. I'm not afraid to fire. I very much have a sink or swim mentality when it comes to sales and this industry, you either get it or you don't.
I try to surround myself with a higher-level thinking, creative ideas type sales team and so far I have exactly what I want.
I'm always willing to give advice on sales tactics, ways to gain more sales, etc ... for free! Some take me up on it and some don't.Comment

Being an idiot is knows no gender boundaries.
There are some really smart women in this industry, some of which have posted in this thread. (eg, Kristen, Ayla_SquareTurtle, and probably some I am overlooking)
There are some really stupid ones who make my flesh crawl to see their name listed as a thread starter.
Same thing for men.
I respect some men in the industry, and I respect some women. I tend to respect the women that I do respect more than the men I respect, simply because I know it has been tougher on them.~

yep, this biz is no place for sensitive females.All I have to say is that you men are working with the wrong women....
I have been in this industry for more than 10 years and more often than not, most of you don't even kn ow I am a female until much later in the business relationship.... simply because I don't feel the need to announce it. Maybe I am doing it wrong? Who knows.

Aww, thanks. I don't think we've ever even been introduced, but I always look for your posts (as well as Kristin's) because they're level-headed and you both seem to share a lot of my opinions on things.
I'm not really well known on the boards, so it's kind of cool to see my name mentioned in a positive way by someone I actually like.

If they read this and wonder if I am referring to them then the answer is probably yes.

I've found the majority of the women in this industry to be extremely intelligent and easy to work with ( I don't think that is just because I am a woman). A small % behave intolerably. The same is true for the men. Some of the most brilliant, good natured men I've ever met work in this industry and then you have that small % of douchebags. Why is it that the smaller % of misbehaved individuals cause such a comotion and put a dark cloud over their entire gender most times? weird

not talking about this industry but in the business world as whole - the problem with women is this:
They do everything by the book, they are not flexible.
Exceptions are always there ofcourse but on average this is true.... its really annoyingComment

to explain it a bit, its genetic. A man has a brain to solve things in a logical way when the normal way is not possible. A womans brain doesnt work that way, they get confused when something goes different than they've learned how it should go, so they just say its not possible if it doesnt go exactly by the book.
Man: Flexible brain
Woman: Static brain
coincidentally I read this also in an article not too long ago, finally proof of something any guy already knows who is dealing with women in companies etc. Too lazy to go look for that article.Comment

some women i had to deal with in my past (not only in this biz) would make most of you here swallow a Xanax overdose. Especially two of them who managed to make girls from team cry on a daily basis. I later quit that job also because of them and when i ever see them again, i will tell them what I really think. and that won't be pretty.

I have to agree with you. When you are talking to someone about business, flirting is out of line. That is fine on here, but not when you want work to be done.
