When Photoshop first came out, it wasn't really better than Paint Shop Pro - actually it wasn't a "web graphics creator", it was a Photo editor and sold as one.

Photoshop was later pirated... mostly by Graphic Designers, Design Companies and Web Developers - which turned around and purchased it, after it was made better.

Anyone else, didn't care to learn how to use it, so they weren't a factor either way.

hindsight is another matter though eh, in hindsight, adobe realizes that their early product was easy to pirate and pass around the office. but that certainly does not mean it was planned or strategy or condoned. it simply means that at that time there was much to learn about combating it.

adobe wouldn't of incorporated all the anti-piracy code the product has and it also would not of introduced products such as ps elements and educational versions if it were actively marketing/advocating its product via piracy.

What irked the fuck outta me, is you buy font discs at the store for $20 and then you go online and all the fonts are free. They just rip the discs and upload em no diff than torrents free progs etc...

Fonts are the one thing people just seem to think have no copyright LOL ;)))))

I make absolutely certain they never slip out to the Internet.

I have some software that cost me $4k for a single application. That one has a hardware key, so it can't be pirated. Some I have with other measures (not a hardware key) that run a few thou for a single app. I wonder why those guys never let their software hit the pirate sites for some of that free marketing.

Oh, I know you on the level homie. Its most people in this thread I bet have hundreds/thousands of fonts, and I doubt they spent the bucks for them - they got them from a "free font" site. Designers do pay for them, but others? Very rare, if ever.

Again... I did pay for some, others I deleted but all did get downloaded first. Same with music, I have checked out a few songs online, then purchased what I wanted or the CD. I have found movies and cartoons that you can't rent or buy in America, watched the entire thing online, then purchased the series.

Nothing that I own is stolen, it's all purchased.
