Okay in all honesty as someone who deals with this kind of thing a lot...
If you look at it from his point of view, he deals with people trying to buy alcohol all the time. A lot of them are going to be underage kids, a few of them are going to be legal aged people trying to buy for themselves, and a small handful will be the "shoulder taps" where people who aren't old enough ask people who ARE legal age to buy alcohol for them.
I've had to have girls come in a couple times to show ID because the person behind the counter thought I was trying to get some underage (under 21) girl drunk. Never been the case but it definitely happens.
Now that my windows are too dark to see through it doesn't happen anymore but they're just doing their job, liquor violations are nothing to fuck with, most of them are minimum 2,000 dollars + you lose the ability to work around liquor forever.Comment

This thread was a funny read.
Keep in mind if you are 40 and look it and your ID is expired the same liquor sales person cannot sell you alcohol legally. Might seem dumb but if he is getting tested by undercover ABC(alcohol,beverage control) He will get fined and the location can loose its license. Alcohol license run 40K+ in LA county. A location in LA will go under if they loose their liquor license.
So with the above in mind, if that guy worked for me, i would fire him if he doesn't check your ID to the state required rules.

I do see your point but I also see that the guy was just doing his job. Whether or not she *looks* old enough is immaterial. Checking ID is king in a job like that. Period. You just happened to run across a guy that is a stickler for enforcing it to the letter, that's all. The next guy behind the counter might not give a shit about who's sitting in your vehicle.
