Doesn't matter, if your with someone underage they think may consume it, they are carded as well or no booze for you. Not sure if its the law but know it is common practice now.

It's the law in a lot of places. I went to buy some beer with my brother once and he didn't have his ID, he looks older than I do. They refused to sell it to either one of us.

Some places follow it, most don't seem to.
