i don't get why that article is stating that the security for NYC failed.. that street vendor saved a lot of lives and in my mind, the security in NYC is in an extremely good position

they have a cheap and easy way for survelliance that isn't invasive of peoples privacy

They failed because they had no idea of the plot. In fact the bomb was SMOKING which means there was a failure in the detonator. Which means, if the bomb was properly constructed it would have went off. It was a dud, thank god!

Absolutely not, did you read the article? We must stop pull our troops out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the whole Islamic world.

I'm kind of surprised that there's not actually been more of this in the US to be honest.

It's hard for them to get past the planning stage without being caught by intelligence. Once they're on their way to plant the bomb, it can only take blind luck for them not to succeed. It's not like there's anyone being searched or checked anywhere in the US, except airports.

Taliban just took credit for it.

This will never ever stop, all what is from the West is a target and sooner or later they will succeed again.

And here we go.. Spin doctors are at work.

Top cop: No evidence of Taliban link to bomb

NEW YORK - There is no evidence to support a claim by the Pakistani Taliban that it was responsible for a failed car bomb attack Saturday night in New York's Times Square, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Sunday afternoon.

Kelly said officers are on their way to a town in Pennsylvania to talk to a man who believes he may have recorded a bombing suspect on his video camera. He said a white man in his 40s was seen taking off his shirt in an alley and putting it in a bag.

Clinton said there will be a McVey incident just a couple of weeks ago.. Any time these people tell you this stuff believe them because they are the ones behind it.. RULES FOR RADICALS.

yes i have heard this said by your politicians etc.. personally i don't think the cat goes back into the bag

if you look at the underlying reasons for these incidents and the players involved, we're dealing with a bunch of animals who want to make a difference in a world only they can see

We can continue spending billions turning our children and soliders into murders, or we can spend millions developing the infrastructures and social norms of these countries. Not to say i'm one to vocally disagree with any confrontation involving military violence, but the current situation has sucked deep on our resources and capabilities of defending ourselves against people that play for keeps
