    Why you should never open a car radiator while its still hot

    I am smart enough to know this having worked on many cars but well it got the better of me the other day. One of the hoses didn't hold and sprayed me in boiling water, got around 20% burns mainly right and left arm and right side of my chest.





    Arm they choose not to bandage I guess there going to have to now.

    It was totally my fault but serves as a timely lesson and a painful one going to take around a month or more to heal.

                      Yeah... pretty unlucky if it failed right when you popped the hood, or were you checking the hoses?

                                          lol at the face removed it cause well am just ugly... and it didn't actually fail I was clamping the main hose to radiator when it (under pressure) blew back spraying all the water out.

                                          Off to get the bandages changed in morn not looking forward to that.

                                              man thats pretty fucked up, getting hit by hot radiator water/fluid always been a paranoia of mine and now i see with good reason. hope you recover from that quickly.

                                                                                              I once popped a hot car radiator valve, and the damn thing blew right into my fucking face. Chemical burns on half of my face. I walked around like TwoFace from the Batman for a few weeks. I'm lucky it healed up without any scars.

                                                                                                                                                                                      Since I left the Hospital nothing at all just plain old painkillers type shit you would give your two yr old kid lol. I was on morph and few other things in there but I have certain reactions to Morphine as such couldn't have much at a time.

                                                                                                                                                                                      It really only hurts when I move so lol been trying not to do much of that.

                                                                                                                                                                                          It's like anything you're used to, you become too familiar, too complacent, so one silly mistake can cause big probs... my father in law opened an oil cap while the engine was running (why would you do that?) and got hot, used oil squirted in his eyes! Luckily he was ok... glad to hear Darkhorse is too. (I just typed out "Darkhose" - how appropriate! )
