If you need to clean up an image, the idea is not to make it look like it's fake. This plastic shit is over the top and kills my wood. Your surfers will not care much for this either as it defeats the entire purpose of the word "amateur." However, this also explains why there are so many threads about people's sales sucking. No clue about the market they are selling in.

Well don't blame the designers dude. We just provide what the client asks for.

Won't beat knowing what you're doing but probably the next best thing.
