It's racism. If the people pouring in were blonde with blue eyes, Arizona would welcome them with open arms, but because they are the round-faced dark indians from Mexico, they're not welcome.

These people take NO jobs that Americans would do. I don't see Americans lining up to pick cantaloupe on the fields. The farmers HAVE to hire illegals or the fruit would rot in the fields. I lived in a ranch in North Florida for a couple of years and my neighbors (all country folks who wouldn't give a Mexican the time of day) hired them because NOBODY else would do the work. Even the ranchers' sons refused to do it.

If the laws regarding the hiring of illegal aliens were actually enforced, there would be no jobs for illegals here, so they would not bother to come.

Of course many want it both ways. They want to hire, and benefit from the hiring of, low wage illegals, while simultaneously blaming immigrants for all of our troubles.

No one was friendlier to illegal immigrants than Bush was - both while he was governor of Texas, and then while he was president.

To blame the left for this is disingenuous at best.

Starts smelling like Rooskies ideas/reality start taking over in USA, because it's now a crime to not carry your immigration papers with you, haha, same they do in Moscow, you have no ID you can be taken into custody until they have your person indentified, plus fees.

i dont give a fuck what you call it. its illegal they live here have kids dont pay medical send their kids to school dont pay taxes into the system like i did for my kids get social security for their kids collect welfare its a mess. ive seen it first hand i wont get into that tho

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

Perhaps you don't remember, but in 2005 the Right in this country was so pissed off at Bush and republicans over attempts to pass amnesty for illegal aliens, and their refusal to enforce the borders, that they basically stopped supporting their congressional and senate candidates, and thus you saw the Democratic takeover of the house and senate in 2006. this was one of the biggest issues of that election for Republicans.

Every person I know was SUPER pissed at Bush over his handling of the border enforcement issues, including his most ardent supporters.

That's fine. I still think you would reduce the influx of illegals if they had no work. Go after the companies that hire them, and I am sure the numbers would drop fast.

I also have to agree with this.

People move for better opportunities. State to state, country to country, illegal or legal. Its obvious that the people coming from Mexico and Central America are looking for a better life and they know that if they can reach the US, which many will not, they will have that opportunity.

So take it away. Make the punishment so huge for businesses/persons found employing illegals that they simply will not take the risk. Make that the focus instead of asking anyone who is stopped to produce papers, because to avoid the racism charges that is what is going to have to happen.

I cant believe people think it has a single thing to do with skin or eye color.

If a farm put up a HELP WANTED sign for pickers or planters and paid the federal minimum wage for the work, and kept proper W2 forms for everyone and had proper payroll and everything in accordance with the law, thered be LINES OF AMERICANS around the block looking to do the work.

There might be right now because the economy is in the crapper, but I would bet they would have trouble filling those positions when things are going good. For minimum wage you can work in the fields or you can work in fast food or any number of jobs at convenience stores, service stations and other places. Of them all field works is probably the hardest and most back-breaking. If it were me and I had a choice between flipping burgers at McDonalds and working in the fields for the same wage, I'd be a burger flipping fool.

I think the illegals make LESS that minimum wage for that work. My guess is, if the farmers had to pay Americans for this, it would cost them well OVER minimum wage, plus tax matching, paperwork, accounting fees, etc.

It could be done, but the cost of our food will certainly go up to make up for the trade off.

Same story with hotel room rates, etc....

I live in an area where there is a lot of seasonal field work that attracts a good number of migrant (read illegal) workers and I can tell you that many of them do pay under minimum wage. The way they do it is that they pay per pound or bushel or some unit of measurement, but the payment is low enough that most people will not be able to make more than minimum wage and others will make much less. So they tell you that you are free to make as much as you can. The faster and harder you work the more money you will make but it is very hard to make more than minimum wage.
