Just watching "Jackie Brown" after like 12 years
I swear I haven't seen that movie since its premiere time. I remember I didn't like it that much cause I was all hype, I guess I was like 16 and wanted to see another Pulp Fiction. But now I do enjoy it much more, cause it has its kind of normal civil storyline, civil moments and civil dialogues. I have a serious feeling this movie is going to mature up into one of the all time overlooked classics.

				 | It tripped me out because i was at Del Amo mall where it was shot and when the characters went into the movie theater it was the very same theater and room where i was watching the movie. The whole theater looked back when the one of the characters walked into the theater. Thought it was a joke and we were all on candid camera. My care was also parked in the same parking lot. Tripped my out and never bothered to see it again.

				 | If it is boring, that is probably because Tarantino actually wrote this one. Unlike Pulp Fiction, which he barely wrote any of. He bought that script and paid the real writer extra money so he could put only his name on the screenplay. True story - look it up. I think Tarantino only wrote the part about the guy getting shot in the back seat and the whole "cleaner" part. I lose interest in the movie once Bruce Willis rides off with the girl on the motorcycle. |

				 | It was a trip. But the South bay was his home. Thats why you see Hermosa beach, Hawthorn, Manhattan beach, torrance in a lot of his movies. I grew up in the South Bay(Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach). I used to rent videos from a place call "Video Archives" in Manhattan Beach all of the time. This tall goofy guy would try and sell me on all of these cult classics all of the time. I got exposed to movies like the Blob, Swamp-thing, etc. Was pretty cool. This guy was so passionate about movies. I got a kick out of listening to him talk about all of these movies with a passion. This was about 89-92. Then the guy quit showing up to work at the video store. He was kinda strange but really knew his shit when it came to movies. Then about a year later i saw him on a movie poster for a movie called "RESERVOIR DOGS". It was Quentin Tarantino, my old movie store clerk. Now that was pretty cool.

Bought me a book about Tarantino recently like about his scripts and stuff, haven't got into it yet cause I'm reading Alfred Hitchcock biography, that's actually pretty interesting too. Once I finish my degree I'd like to spend some time Californicating myself

				 | Robert De Niro was great in that movie. That said, I thought it was a bit of a let down from Pulp Fiction. Plus, Tarantino got a bit smug with the "City of" schtick. |
