I used 45 minutes on my cell phone last month. I will respond to a voicemail, but no one ever leaves them.

Same here.
Most of my friends are trained to send me IM/EMAIL if they really want a prompt answer. The lone exception would be when I am actually meeting them. So if I am en route to the golf course, casino, meeting them. Then I may answer.

I think people just know the person calling them wants a favor or some shit and they figure if they get a text then they can see what they want and decide if they should answer instead of having to deal with it on the spot when you're talking on the phone.Comment

I feel like I pay a cell phone bill to make and take calls at my convenience not for someone else's convenience to reach me any time. If it is not convenient to take a call, I won't. It's nothing personal, I just may not be able to have certain conversations at certain times around certain people. Everyone I talk to knows if it's something serious and i don't answer, call back or text me and ill excuse myself from what i'm doing at the moment and pick up the phone.
I hate when people talk on their phone about anything anywhere. I'm shocked what i hear in public from people not caring who is around them when they loudly take a call that clearly should have been a bit more personal.
That's waaaay worse.
