We are going to test this one for a few days and see what we get

It doesn't look 'Amateur', it looks home made. (from the early 90s) Like someone else mentioned, lack of design skill is not what constitutes an 'Amateur' look. Best of luck with it. |

We have intentions of using everybit of advice we get som the more the merrier! |
Amateur made at home sites should look that way but be careful not to make it look tooo crappy. I dont like anything posted but thats me.

I dont like either, but #2 is the best of the 2.
In any case, get rid of "live girls 24/7. The site is about HER, not about upsells or bonus material. |
These days people know that even an "amateur" can have a professional looking site. You are doing something that these days just looks "dated", not "amateur".
You've gotten some great advice and you say you're going to use all of it. Why not do just that and use the ONE REAL suggestion everyone has given you regarding the design...let someone else do it. You won't lose money. |

I figured I would do some different layouts and when I get close to a good design I will go with it |
Ok
We now offer 3 tours for debsdeepthroat http://www.debsdeepthroat.com http://www.debsdeepthroat.com/tour1 http://www.debsdeepthroat.com/tour2 I think the tour1 is my favorite |
looking at these, aside from the hideous design, I get the impression there is only 1 woman featured on this site, and she's not all that hot. I wouldn't spend any $ on it.
|
why the bump on a thread that is almost a year old? I think it is safe to say they already got the advice they was looking for.
|
so harsh everyone

I'd just like to say you take criticism like a fucking pro man... There was a lot of beat down in this thread and you've maintained a positive attitude and are working in the right direction. Thumbs up on being a fucking champ :D That said... Someone earlier recommended changing from Times New Roman as the font. You should DEFINITELY make the switch to something else... Arial or if you want to keep with serif fonts try out Georgia or something :P On the new links you posted I think Tour1 (Also your fav) is moving in the right direction. Here's a couple of things you could do to bring the design a little more up to date but keeping it still "amateur" - Add a repeating background, very tasteful and very toned down - Try changing up the color on the title images you're using, something complimentary that stands out but isn't obnoxious... specifically on your calls to action - Never skew a photo (like the one of deb at the top left of the content area in tour1... she looks squished - Try out some different content separators... - Don't center all of your verbiage, that will help block out areas better and keep it looking a bit "cleaner" - Try blocking out different content areas or "blocks" with a different back ground color (nothing too drastic) or perhaps even some very light borders - The follow me on twitter link... make the entire box the link rather than just the word "Twitter" Anyway, there's a few suggestions on things you could try out, hope that helps! |
