My hubby (then boyfriend) was in the Navy, and on the way back from Incirlik Turkey after a three month stint at dodging bullets while taking care of maintenence for the EA6Bs and F-18 squads over there, the plane stopped off at Shannon Ireland. First thing he sees is a pretty redhead with shots of Irish whisky on a tray, offering free samples!! Gotta love the Irish!

But Guinness just doesn't taste right unless it's poured from the tap in Ireland. I'm serious as hell. And it must be room temp.

Bit of trivia for you: Irish whisky is spelled "Whiskey" because of the distinct taste difference between it and any other kind - the extra "E" is for "Eire".

All other whisky's should be spelled without the "E"

Have to agree with you there - fortunately I now live just outside of LA, so refrigerated Guinness is the same temperature as room temperature Guinness in Ireland
