Whoever it is, it will be unlikely that person will end up voting ideologically opposite the president who appointed him/her. Republicans often end up appointing liberal judges: Eisenhower > Brennan, Ford > Stevens, and Bush I > Souter.
In the past 70 years, the only Democrat that appointed a justice that turned out conservative was JFK. He nominated Byron White.Comment

Doug Heffernan...I mean Elena Kagan. In many pictures they look just alike.
In Kagan's case, I think she will have broad support, she isn't as liberal as WoodComment
