I can't remember when I last used one. At the grocery store I go to they have one in the entry way next to the water kiosk that I use to fill up my 5 gallon water bottles. I was in there a few weeks ago and there was a guy actually using it. I have lived in this town and gone to that store for about 5 years now and that was the first time I ever saw it in use.

That's funny. I remember them interrupting you to put in more money the longer you spoke or your call would be disconnected. Kind of the same way we do with credits on the cam sites.

I have a phone card that dates back to at least 2002. Still have $10 on it. Used it once in 2007, and MCI didn't expire it or charge me for disuse.

Now for a post that no one gives a fat flying fuck about. The phone in the picture looks like a mid-late Protel Sentinal. Somewhere between a model 4000-8000. Though it could be a Wetsern Electric (Protel kind of knocked off the look and I'm kind of Rusty these days) Protel manufactures(mafactured?) COCOTs, or Customer Owned Coin operated telephones, which are generally owned and operated not by the telco, but private owners, much like a vending machine.

Used to see quite a few of these kicking around, then and the Nortel centurions. Now all I see anywhere anymore are the Nortel milleniums. Even those used to be easy as fuck to play around with in the early days, when most of the service codes were all left to default.

Man I miss phucking with phones sometimes. Reminds me of wardialing for hours on end in momma's basement.
