Legit email or scam? Re: my domains

I just received the following email. It was sent to the email address on the domain registration. Anyone else get one of these? Is it legit? I do not have a trademark registered in the particular domain name.

Dear Sir/Madam

I'm sorry to disturb you so abrupt. We are a domain name registration service company in Asia,

On 2th April. we received a formal application submitted by Mr. ******* who wanted to use the keyword "[insert my domain name here]" to register the Internet Brand and with suffix such as .cn /.com.cn /.net.cn/.hk/.asia/ domain names.
After our initial examination, we found that these domain names to be applied for registration are same as your domain name and trademark. We aren't sure whether you have any relation with him. Because these domain names would produce possible dispute, now we have hold down his registration, but if we do not get your company's an reply in the next 5 working days, we will approve his application

As authorized anti-cybersquatting organization we hereby suspect Mr. ******* is a domain investor. so we need you to attach importance to this issue.

In order to handle this issue better, Please contact us by Fax ,Telephone or Email as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely 2010-4-4
Joy

It's a scam to sell overpriced domain extensions. Try googling the details in the email.

I plugged "After our initial examination, we found that these domain names to be applied for registration are same" (sans quotes) into Google, pops up a lot of results that suggests it's a scam.

Thanks for all the replies. I figured as much...

Usually the scams come to all my domains, so they're easy to spot. This one was sent to only one; that's what got me thinking.

scam, been going on for a while, I guess all it takes is a small percentage of businesses to fall for it at their inflated prices to make it profitable unfortunately.

I posted last week about another current popular scam going around but nobody seem to want to bump it or had much interest in it.....
