God damn I love that song. One of those songs where it kicked me so hard in the nuts the first time I heard it I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing.
Some drunk slut had drug me back to her place and we were going at it on the couch when that song came on. I stopped what I was doing and made her play it again. And so began my love affair with Rudimentary Peni.
The later stuff was hit and miss for me but the early stuff is god damned epic. And probably the best lyrics of any band of that era.

I could never get into Fugazi. I mean once you spend a few years screaming Minor Threat and then Fugazi shows up... just couldnt get into it.
I will agree on the straight edge though. Nobody does hardcore better than the kids who are married to the x. I have a couple TB of hardcore and Id say a good 50% of it is straight edge, most of it hard-line. The angrier the better. Not drinking, smoking, eating meat, or fucking does strange things to a person. Makes great music though...

I have no idea how I have managed to miss this thread each time it has come around. Punk is my music and I love so many punk songs that is is hard to pick one but when I have to pick one the same song keeps coming into my mind.
It was hard to find a good version of my fave punk song on Youtube for some reason but it is The Dammed's version of Jet Boy Jet Girl
